I'm in the process of switching my daughter from formula to milk. She wouldn't switch outright. I've found that mixing formula and milk together works. I'm slowly decreasing the amount of formula I add. Also, another thing that made a huge difference was the temperature. I always gave her formula that was room temp. When I first tried milk, I just pulled it out of the refrigerator. Now I put her sippy cup in a cup of hot water for a few minutes to warm it up. Good luck. .

try soy milk. i was just wondering the other day if it was ok fo babies to have soy milk so i looked it up, i saw alot of sites recommending to try soy milk if they wont drink regular cows milk. we normally dont have milk in the house since niether my husband or i will drink we only have it in the house if we need to cook with it but we will drink soy milk. i drank alot of chocolate soy milk when i was pregnant it helped with the heart burn for awhile then stopped working =/.

It was hard switching Jacob to regular milk. He hated it. I just kept trying to give him chocolate and strawberry milk instead. I asked his dr about it and she said not worry, even if he eats something like ice cream, or yogurt its ok, as long as he is getting calcium. Now he drinks milk fine, he isnt the biggest fan, but he at least drinks it.

Try using the formula you have left to mix with milk. That will get him used to the taste. I started mixing in a small amout of milk at a time and then raised the ratio of milk. I think alot of kids have trouble switching because the whole milk is so much richer than the formula. Good luck. .

I had spoke to his dr. and she suggested to try soy milk and he drank that so much better and his stools were ok. I now have him on soy milk and if i try to give him reg. milk he trows it up.

Ammon did not have a problem switching to regular milk, don't know why. But I have heard that the mixing of the two until you eventually have nothing but regular milk works well.

Rivers didn't have an issue with this. We continued to use the formula in the morning and evening with his bottle and milk during the day in a sippy.

Until I tried adding just a little bit of strawberry syrup and she drank it down fast. After awhile, I just stopped adding it and she still drank it.

So I added ovaltine (it has some vitamins) only 1 tbsp (they say 4 tbsp) to her milk. I haven't had any problems and she loves it. |
