It is such an honor. It really makes you feel great when someone cares about you so much that they name their child after you. : )

I feel like it should just come from your mind and heart. The name will come to you. When it does, you know it. :o

You may think Perrywinkle is a great name, but 'baby' might look a lot more like a Pennington. The views prestented by this poster do not represent the views of this or any other organization. You don't want to fuss with a name at arrival time. We picked our first son's name from the irish side of daddy. And I always loved the name Rowan. So boy or girl our second child was named Rowan.

I also think that you pay attention to names everywhere more when you're expecting. I still believe naming a child is a lot of pressure.

My two boys have their middle names after their Grandpa's. My husband as well. I really like incorperating family into naming my kids. My soon to arrive daughter is going to be named after my Aunt and best friend, Jacqueline Elizabeth. Their really is a satisfying honor in it.

My son is Phaylin and it is a celtic irish name. Its original spelling was Phealan but I didnt like that. It means "Of Wolf" my DH and I absolutely love wolves. Phaylin's middle name is a family middle name. His Dads middle name is Douglas and grandpa's middle name was Douglas also. My daughter is named Caitlynn. I have always loved the name Caitlynn. BUT I had the spelling changed. Since my son had a family name I wanted my daughter to have part of my name. So I changed Caitlin to Lynn. Lynn is my middle name. RacheAl is her middle name. Its not racheal but ra'kel. But now I have realized after 11 years my daughters initals. Caitlynn Racheal Sweeney or CRS... "Cant Remember Sh*t.

Your child will identify with aspects of their name, and you should be aware of this. Fame, shame, embarassment, pride, ego..... You should think twice about naming your boy Sue. A daily good deed brings joy to your life.
