My mom just gave me this tip. She has been doing it forever and it has always worked to keep all of the sinks in her house unclogged.

I'll try that also. I have tried vinegar with baking soda I found that on the internet) It didnt seem to work that great. My boyfriend is a plumber, and you would think with him around we would never run into any problems. WRONG!! He is so tired from working that when he comes home the last thing he wants to do is fix our plumbing problems. People are always commenting on how lucky we are that Jerry is a plumber, and our house must never have any problems. If only they knew.

I have never tried peroxide, but here is how I do teh vinegar. After cleaning thoroughly, I run hot water, as hot as possible, for about a minute, then as I reduce the flow of water, I increase the flow of vinegar until I pour about one cup of vinegar after the water is off. Then let sit for a few hours, or best - over night.

my dad always used sulfric acid ugh it made the house smell like rotten eggs and didnt help much he would pour it down the drain vents on the roof. i always pour bleach down the drain for awhile if its starting to back up till we get around to cleaning the trap under the sink it helps it not back up as much (the apt had bad issues with drains). for disposal odor the best thing we have found so far is these round plastic balls called plink it comes in citrus scents, we bought it from bed bath and beyond but i have seen it in the grocery stores lately it works great our disposal gets pretty bad from the dirty bird water but this got rid of the odor.

And heather, a plumber always has leaky faucets. And a mechanic always has a broke down car in the yard. It is the nature of things!!
I know, I guess I'll just have to get used to it.
