Title: baby boys more active than girls?
Posted: 2 months ago

my son is only 10 months and very active!!! He is rough too! He does no cry when he stands up on something and falls down, and he loves wrestling, or crawling all over his big sister just to pull her hair (he thinks its funny.)  H is constantly crawling, and when he is not crawling, it's because he is sleeping..lol  He is a very rough 10 month old and i notice that he is the complete opposite of my daughter who was very calm and still.  She was also very tolerant to pain considering the fact that she rarely cried when she too bumped her head. has anyone experienced the same situation where the boys are far morea active than the girls?

Personally, I have not because I only have my son.  However, he is extremely active and much more than I remember my younger cousin being at that age.  She was active and busy, but it was different.

Friends who have both have said there boys were more active / rougher than their girls.

There has been some cute features about the differences, from the X/Y Files writer.  It will make you laugh!

Having boy/girl twins, I can honestly say that boys are much more active and just in to everything.  However, my daughter can certainly defend her territory and take care of things when she needs to.  I think girls are just willing to sit back and relax until they have had enough and then you better watch out.....!!!!!

I have three boys and one girl. When the boys were smaller they were very active and the girl was very calm. Now its the other way around. My girl is the bully and the boys are scared of her. She is so active that Im not sure what to do at times.

A girlfriend of mine with two preschool aged boys told me when I was pregnant with my boy, "OH, YOU JUST WAIT-HE'LL BE WILDER THAN EITHER OF YOUR GIRLS."

I thought to myself, "whatever, I've got two active little girls, I know what this "wild" stuff is all about"

Oh am I ever eating my words, my boy is NUTS (at 16 months old)!!!!!!!!! He climbs EVERYTHING, runs everywhere, eats anything, hits, pushes, screams if he doesn't get what he wants and I mean screams like he's being beaten. He can pull his body up and hang from things...I don't care what anyone says, boys are born different from girls.

If you give my girls two trucks, they make the trucks have conversations. If you give my boy a barbie doll he pushes it along the floor going, "rrrrrrrrrrr..."
My boy has chipped teeth, he hits his head more than I can believe is ok, we've had to make calls to poison control (he OPENED a latched dishwasher and popped the soap dispenser open and then proceeded to eat all the soap in less than 5 seconds with my husband standing right there). According to the lovely people at poison control, dish soap is relatively harmless.

I had a mother of 4 (2 boys) tell me once that she had just resigned herself to the fact that her kids were going to break bones, so she wasn't going to go crazy trying to keep them off of everything. At the time (before my son was born) I thought, "what a terrible mother, how could she say that." Now, I totally understand. If I kept my boy off/away from every potential hazard I could never set him down. No amount of pulling him off, buckling him in, locking things up (i.e. dish soap) seems to prevent him from getting into trouble. While I pray he never has to go through the ordeal of a bone break, I am, at this point, just biding time.

Anyhow, in my opinion, YES, baby boys are more active than baby girls. I'm sure this may not always be the case, but in my experience there is NO question.

I absolutely maintain that anyone who says that there is no difference between boy babies and girl babies has never had both!!!! Smile  They are from 2 completely different worlds!!!  Now, I'm not saying that Emma is not active at all.  She loves to play and get wild with Timothy too, but it's not the same.  When Emma was small, I could set her on the floor, go get something from another room and come back and find her exactly where I left her.  With Timothy, I would find him hanging off the file cabinet!  With Timothy, before he could even crawl, he could make engine noises and EVERYTHING became some kind of vehicle.  It's just different!  My dh is the only boy of 6 kids (yes, 5 sisters!  3 of them older).  While they were "baking" mud pies, he was driving his trucks through them.  While they were playing dolls, he was roping and tying them.  Yeah.  Completely different worlds, and it's just awesome to watch. Smile
