I don't think I've ever heard of that.  What is it and what does it involve?  It sounds interesting.

We started out with that method - I think that it actually helped my daughter to realize more fully when she needed to go and to learn how to hold it for a while because she hates being wet/dirty.  But it has taken probably almost a year of other things to get her almost fully potty trained.  Three days sounds kind of crazy, but maybe my daughter is just a slower learner.

First, we waited until he had an interest and then we had a meeting in front of the bathroom and talked about how he wasn't going to wear baby diapers anymore, just big boy diapers and soon we hoped big boy underwear (along with a few other points).  We made it fun and important, it was our 1st family meeting about a milestone.

We had him in the pull-ups for a week or so.  He seemed to be getting the hang of it and I got cold feet about him getting dependent on them, so we just went to underwear.

We had a few accidents and no, they are not fun to clean (the poopy ones at least).  However, he did fine and I think it helped because he doesn't like to be dirty.  Within a month we were pretty much trained.

Now and again, when we are doing something that has his 100+% interest he may wait until the last minute and leak, but that is typically it.

I think you have to try a few different things to find what works for each child.
