Title: working mom
Posted: 2 months ago

I am a working mom. I love working. I love people and seeing adults on a regular basis. My problem is with the draining economy and the cutting back of hours on me becuase i am pregnant. Well they went from working me my 32 hours which is fulltime to 19 hours. i was working 40 plus but had to cut back to 32 because i had so much morning sickness i was passing out from exhaustion and lack of energy. a month and a half of the 32 hours worked awesome with me. i was able to get rest and then have time for work and kids. now with 19 hours i am wondering why i even go to work. whats the point. i go to work these next two weeks for 6 hours 3 days. is there something i can do. i know its because i am pregnant. but i still do more then most of the people i work with. my work has not slacked off and i am putting in twice as much energy. they have kept some of the laziest people at my job with 32 hours and they do nothing, my days i do come to work i clean up after them. not fair.

Sammi I would ask your supervisior to put you back up to 32 hours. Try talking to them first.

You need to speak with your management and document the conversation.  It may be a good idea to have facts of recent work history on your accomplishments & effeciencies.

They can't cut your hours because you are pregnant, they must have other reasons why hours are not being distributed equally among employees.

I was the same way you are now. I was working like 40+ got prego and then went down to like 20. I needed that 20 but once I felt better it went back up again. Just tell them that you don't plan on being sick for a long time and you want your hours back.

Were you hired for full time?  If so then you ahould be able to collect unemployment for the cut of hours.  If you have no restrictions from your doctor (saying you can only work so many hours) If you were hired for 40 hours a week and they have cut you to 19, then you should bet collecting on 21 hours.  Check into it!!
