N is now five and he has always been terrified of dogs. He does not like being around them and usally will not go in a house if there is one. One neighbor is great they put the dog in the kennels when N comes over.

this is a hard one i have known kids that were fine with dogs then one day they are terrified then they randomly get over it. he will prolly get over it in time but i know it can be annoying. what i do with the birds to get kids less fearful (theres only one i bring out for them) is let the bird nibble on me so they can see it doesnt hurt if that doesnt work i will hold the bird with its head covered so they can touch its back so they are less freaked out about being bit. they all eventually want to hold her and they find her nibbles tickle, they are usally still alittle jumpy if she jumps around.

She had a puppy following her home. So we have the god right now. I thought it was small but its a big puppy. German Shepard. My four year old would not leave his room because he was scared. He even had nightmares and kept on waking up scared. My dh got mad at me and told me to get rid of the dog. I like the dog always wanted one since I was a kid but love my son also. Im not sure how to help my son to like dogs.

We have a very large dog. I have always put her away in our laundry room when guests come over. I don't want anyone to get scared or to be uncomfortable. I do think that kids eventually overcome their fears, I know I did.

She did get over it eventually on her own when she grew taller than the dogs but no amount of coaxing helped, she just screamed and we had to carry her when a dog was around. Not the worst thing, you just get to pick them up and hug them more!

He is afraid of dogs and he can't get over that on his own. Just be patient and help him along. he will get there. you are doing good though.
