a car seat from eBay?

My youngest daughter is getting to big for her infant car seat, I don't want to move my oldest into a booster seat at 40lbs and she isn't even close to that yet, so I want to get a Britax Regent for Megan. We need two of them one for the car and the other for the truck. We can wait a couple of weeks yet but we are going to need to get at least one of these soon and I am looking for the cheapest price, so far that has been on eBay.

I am just not sure if buying a car seat on eBay even the new ones is a good idea or not.

Ebay is just a virtual garage sale- so buyer beware- Double check recall lists and use the buyers refrences before buying.

Ebay is deffinately a "buyer-beware" situation, however, I have puchased many things from ebay with no problems at all.  I can see why you hesitate regarding the car-seat, but do your research and I don't think you would have a problem.  Make sure the seller says: New in box, not like new.  If it is new in box, then it will include a product registration card that you send to the manufacturer who will then contact your directly if the car seat is ever recalled.

I say I would wait even if it takes awhile because I would rather be safe than sorry. I think Ebay has too many used things. Why not buy it straight from the company that makes them and have them delivered too you a sooner time?

All of my daughter's seats were used (until the cheap booster). I bought them from my friend's resale shop, she is very picky about what she sells, everything is super clean, and she is knows all about the recalls/safety problems.
