Title: Hotels, motels, B&Bs - places to stay

When you go on trips, where do you stay? How do you rate them? What do you look for? Do you wear flip flops when walking around on a hotel floor? Do you use room service? Is a pool a must? Is it all about the price?

It depends.  We usually do a hotel, mostly Sheratons, Days Inn, Mariott, or Hyatt, depending on where we are. We do use room service and I do keep my feet covered.  Pools are not a must but I got a hotel with an indoor pool for our trip to VA next month so Gabriel could swim.  We are not bed and breakfast people.....we just like to do our own thing and not have to worry about sharing bathrooms with other etc.....if we don't have to.

I only ever stay in a hotel if I hae to... and thats only when we go tot he outter banks... ofh wait we went a couple a valentines days ago to a Hotel to get rowdy away from the kidsSmile Normalluy when we travel we travel to see family, and usually stay with them. or friends we normally stay with them. and if those same friends and family were coming to the area they would be staying with us.

When i do stay at a hotel I take my own blankets and pilliows and several extra towels. i never thought about walking around with flip flops but now that you metion it I think i might have to start doing that.

We stay at hotels- mostly chains.  Most I feel comfortable inand they are clean so my feet go al'natural never had a problem.  If the hotel looks dirty I would wear flipflops.  DH is a tight wad but when it comes to hotels he loosens his wallet- He rather pay more to sleep comfortably.

No B&Bs for us-yet!

I stay in hotels alot since my dh travels to play the police games. Every year is somewhere or something. It depends on which city or state we go to. We have diffrent hotels acording to what city we go to. All I ask for is a jacuzzy just because I wan't to relax and he does too because at the end of games his body aches. We always get the master suite. He works up for it and I think that I deserve it.

We stay at hotels mostly, though someday I would love to stay at a B&B.

When traveling as a family, we prefer to stay at the Suite style hotels, like Residence Inn or Homewood Suites.  Both are more focused on business travelers, but fantastic for families.  This gives us the kitchen for eating in, they usually have breakfast buffets, and have the 1 bedroom is awesome with a 2 yr. old.  He can sleep, but we can still stay up and hangout.  They are usually not over priced either.

We usually bring our own pillow - comfort.  No flip flops or anything like that.

We have and will do other things, depending on where we go or the theme of the trip.

Now that we're "kid" people, we stay at hotels.  Mostly Holiday Inn, Days Inn, Hyatt, etc... kid friendly hotels.  An indoor pool is a must when traveling with our 5 year old.  In fact, we'll be taking a trip to St. Louis over Labor Day and that was the one pre-requisite - had to have an indoor pool.

I always pack our own pillows and we never use the top blanket on the bed...  I'm a germaphobe and have watched too many Dateline specials in hotel rooms to know what goes on in the rooms.

We usually pack our own snacks and go out to eat, so we don't utilize room service all that much.

And yeah, I'm with the girls who keep their feet covered.

I will let viewers know about a really cool B&B in St. Louis.  My hubby and I stayed there a few years ago - it's the Lemp Mansion.  It is a really neat place, only has 3 rooms, and the room we stayed in (The Lavendar Suite) has a private bath, which was nice.  The prices are pretty reasonable too and they offer a discount if you stay two nights.  It is also within walking distance (a long walk) to the brewery.
