While swimming doesn't usually get this much attention, Michael Phelps has certainly made it interesting! How can we not watch to see what he does race after race when he starts out with gold after gold? His split one-hundredth of a second finish against fellow American racing for Serbia, Cavic certainly made anyone watching lose their breath for a second -- including his mom and sisters who have been so supportive and endearing that you just want to hug them all. It certainly helps that Phelps is a cutie who has a wonderful on-air personality and great team pride. Let's not forget the last Olympics when he gave up his spot in a relay to fellow teammate Ian Crocker so Crocker would have a shot to redeem an earlier mistake. A good all-around guy. A swimmer that makes Americans proud -- so proud that NBC negotiated with the Olympics to get all of Phelps' events put on Prime Time live television in the Eastern U.S. So -- did you watch him and suddenly find yourself a swimming fan?

I've actually always been a swimming fan. but will admit between Phelps and Dara, my entire family has been surrounding the tv when the swimming is on.

I love the fact that Michael is pretty humble and down to earth about this.  His gives a lot of the credit to his teammates, his coach and mostly his Mom!

I think Phelps is amazing! I was luck enough to catch all of his meets. It does make me wish I was a better swimmer and maybe next time I go I will try some of those fun looking strokes he does. or not! he he he

I watched a few live and the rest on replay- WOW!  Swimming has always been one I watched with the Olympics it is exciting- I am senseing though swimming will become more popular!
