I AM GOING DOWNSTAIRS RIGHT NOW TO KIS MY WASHING MACHINE!

I'm not even lieing when i say that  is how my mom washed cloths until she moved to cleveland when she was 15....oh my gosh....my poor mommy... yes lets count our blessing that we have machines and we dont have to use lye soap.lol

My Mom used an old wash board until I was born.  She then got an old ringer washer. 

It makes me think too about how every Christmas my mom makes a big batch of Divinity candy.  Until she got her good Kithen Aid mixer, she burned up...I know it was at least 4 mixers trying to make that.  Having to mix it on high speed, while sticky, for such a long time gets tough on the mixer.  What amazes me is that this was my great-grandma's recipe, and they used to mix it by hand!  I seriously wouldn't have arms left!

We really are spoiled, and it's great to get these little reminders and some perspective.
