Title: Anyone had any experience with SSI?
Posted: 4 months ago

It has finally come to the point where I don't think I will ever be able to go back to work doing what I was trained to do.  I was an Xray Tech for over 20 years.  The artheritis in my knnes and hips has gotten to the point where a trip to the grocery store is extremely painful.

Without any income from me, we are going to lose everything.  Unfortunately, DH makes just enough that we don't quailfy for any help.  Literally he makes $72 more than allowed.  We hve to register the girls for school mext week and there is no way that we have the funds to pay for everyones school fees.  I haven't even begun to figure in school supplies and any school clothes.

I know that what I would get for disablitly isn't much, but at least it would cover school fees and lunches for the girls at school.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Feel free to email me off board.

Just so you know, you might want to think of a different means to cover cost until SSI goes through...It is never cut and dry and usually takes months if not yrs to get it... good luck!

We are trying, but everything I have tried just doesn't work.  I have trouble with my neck which makes sitting and typing difficult for periods of time.  Sitting causes pain in my hips. standing and walking for any deistance or period of time is impossible.
