Would you do wife swap? why or why not?

 Have you seen the link on the homepage about it?

I contacted Wife swap today and filled out the applications go me! who knows maybe if some of you call and talk to them and get an application I'll be trading places with you! woot woot!

I absolutely  WOULDNT even wanna CONSIDER doing those shows !! I admitedly do watch   lol  but  its like WAY  so Not me ... Its not fair to kids, spouses ,  and while it can bring much good ... it also exposes  personal lives publically  in ways that can only cause shame or hurt , or embarressment later on

I watch wife swap from time to time- they seem like extreme families and I happily sit in the middle.  I think it is interesting to see all the different families out there, I LOVED the pirate family and the lady who "ate" the sun.  Yeah it isn't my cup of tea, and those are choices I would not make for my family but to each their own. 

I think it only causes embarassment and shame if you yourself allow it- and maybe life changes are in order.  We all would have something to be ashamed of if cameras are pointed at us 24-7-I would love to actually hear from a family that did Wife Swap before I judge what it causes a family.

And if it meant that I would come home to a clean house sign me up!

LOL I thought about htat Lilmom! what if I went to a hous ethat was trashed...LOL with dog poo on the floor and such... what if I cam ehoem to that...ew i would totally freak!

No way would I do that. I do watch it from time to time, and talk about extreme households. I am not sure where I would fit in. lol. It can be fun to watch though.

I would give it a try. Its cool too see how other peole live and learn a few new things from them. I might learn good things. Its only for a couple of days anyways, its not like I am keeping the family, lol!!

I really don't know if I would do it, it is an intrueging idea. I like watching it more though because the two families are extreme cases. i think it would be fun, but would NOT want to be on tv. (like a little vacation from your life).

I love watching Wife Swap! Although I would never go on that show. I do tease DH and tell him I should just so that he can see I really am not that bad and appreciate me a little more. We are pretty relaxed here, so I always tell him we would get the really strict mom to switch with. He thinks I am just horrible because I ask him to take out the trash and put laundry in the baskets. I would laugh so hard if I switched with a mom that was strict and very bossy. That or either we would get the really dirty one with the dog poo everywhere...eew!

While this is not for me, it is not right to judge people on what you see on shows.  They edit them to get the best ratings they can.  Yes there is always one way out there family and one "normal" family.  It is awful how they edit the good stuff out to give you the meat of it all to gain ratings.  What we consider "OMG, how do they live like that" is normal everyday stuff that these people do not see a thing wrong with it. 

You have from one extreme to the other.  Some people feel that if they got stuck in a dirty house it would be gross, some people feel if they get put ina religious household it would be hell, and so on.  I say do not throw stones if you live in glass houses.  All need to remember that not a one of us is perfect so Rachel - more power to you sister you have so much more courage than I do.

I could not sign up and swap with you, because I wold hate to be considered the far out family and you the "normal" one - HEHE

Bad as we need money  Lest was DIRECT ORDER FROM Abba    , 20,000 is not near enuff for week of  airing  our personal business,   tho honestly have Seen a few showswith results  appeared to be  so drastic in improving  things ..... at least temporarily    Mostly  dont believe it changes most for long atall. Its like talk shows  to me ... trash TV , Reality TV... but at least this show does seem to have  some redeeming qualitys   and thats in learning to  try new ways ... once you are willing

far from  normal....the application ask how is your dh different now then he was in high school...i said he has a job...lol we are so not normal you know better.

and there isnt anything i would be ashamed of ppl seeing or knowing about me and my home... for god sake I am part of a social site where i lay my private life out there everyday for ppl i dont even know. i write a blog giving up personal info of my self and family.... I am an open book for all to see.

WHAT DEE SAID IS SO TRUE RACH !! OFTEN STUFF GETS TWISTED  AND  YOU GET CAUGHT W YOUR PANTS DOWN.. ILL GLADLY WATCH YOU  AND JESSE , AND SOME LADY TELLING  YOUR KIDS TO DO DIFF THAN WHAT YOU WANT TAUGHT ...

I am not one to take orders from Swedish rock bands.  A lot of people do it not just for the money to get their ideas out there to show people another way to life- I think that is pretty cool! 

Yeah, I could not, would not be on that show myself.  But I do say more power to you, Rach!

There are definitely things that I don't think the whole world needs to know about me (especially if things get twisted around) but mostly I would not feel comfortable having someone else come in and force conflicting/contradictory rules and values on my kids.  For me, we have certain rules and ways of doing things that we believe are best for our family, and I just don't want someone messing with that.  I am sure that there are a number of things that we could improve on, and that would be really interesting and probably useful, but yeah, I couldn't do it. 

Although, I think one of the worst shows out there to be on (as far as airing your personal issues) is The Moment of Truth.  There is NO amount of money that could get me on THAT show!!!!!!!!
