For the past 4 years my mother has watched my girls. Recently she has moved and we are in a transition period. My little one sobbed her eyes all week when the baby sitter comes over. Today she asked to go to her room and go to bed... I don't know what to do. My heart is breaking for her and I fear she's a little depressed. Any advice???

I agree with Holly and Keri. It will take a little time for her to readjust, but it will be ok. And the photo album thing is an excellent idea!

What great ideas. I love the photo book and making the special gifts she can send off. Thank you all for your support. You are all awesome.

But I think with the few things offered in advice should help her get thru it more. You could also make arrangements to call Grandma every so often so they can talk. these are all such great ideas! i would add 1 more. i took care of 2 lil girls (i nicknamed them Pumpkin pie and Puddin Head) 6 days a week, 10-12 hrs a day for almost 5 yrs. the youngest was just an infant when i got her. they considered me to be an "extra" grandmother. both of their parents were young enough to have been my kids so needless to say, we all had a special bond. they moved to a much larger town and had to go to a day care for the 1st time in their lives. well, the youngest went thru the roughest time but her parents helped w/ that by teaching her how to use the speed dial on their phone. i was (and still am) #3. they also have my phone number mesmerized as well as they helped Mom write my name down for emergency contacts at the day care. i am 45 mins away but when Mom explained things to day care, they had no problem adding me to the list.
