Independence Day is just around the corner, thought it would be fun to have a thread where we all listed local events.

I know that tomarrow in East Mesa a local cemetary is having a early 4th of July party. Ya strange coming from a cemetary. It is Maraposa Gardens on Power and Broadway Rd. From 10am until 9:15pm.  There will be free food and soda pop from 10am until 5pm and Fireworks later in the evening. All for free!

Im gonna go with my kids cause I work on the Fourth of July which is my birthday. Doesnt bother me that Im working cause I get holiday pay. Cant beat an extra 12 hrs worth of pay for only working  24 hrs.

 

We have the Haynes Apperson Festival that starts on THurs. the 3rd and goes thru Sun. the 6th.  We don't attend it very much, we go just for the fireworks. And then the County Fair starts on Mon the 7th. it will last a week.  WE don't go to that either.  My kid are still to little, they don't have little kids rides and so they just get to walk around and look at everything.  Not much fun.

We go to my mom's on the 4th and have a cookout, play in the pool and have some fireworks.  The kids love it.  We are also celebrating Anthony's 5th birthday there this year.

I tell everyone every year and no one believes me until they actually go, but if you get the chance to go up to Heber, AZ for their fireworks it will be the best fireworks show you have ever seen!  I have been to D.C. for the fireworks and I enjoy the Heber fireworks more.  They always have them on Saturday because so many people go up.  So, you could check out the fireworks at home on Friday and go cool off in the White Mountains on Saturday.

phoenix international raceway is doing their fireworks tonite kind of odd to have them on the thursday before the actual holiday. we were looking froward to watching them from our friends house during their bbq but oh well our house is closer to pir =P my mom wants us to go to the hotel she works at parking lot and watch them so we will see what happens.  

Sawdust days in Oshkosh is where we'll be!  Be safe

Im surprised that PIR is holding fireworks with that Ethan fire going on. Wonder what they are thinking or doing?!

i dont think the ethan fire is still going and if it is its really small and pretty far from pir now it was closer to 51st ave the last report i heard. one good thing is there isnt much left to burn if they start another fire =P
