I am watching Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader right now and I am ashamed to say that I don't think I ever learned any of this! I know I didn't get to multipication until 4th grade! I think it would be fun if some of you with kids in grade school posted some of their homework questions and what grade level they are in.

Well this is something that is said in our home at least twice a week.  With my oldest in 5th grade, it is like WOW!  If it were not for the internet and ask.com, I do not know that I would be able to help her.  However, at least at my daughters school in 5th grade, they are starting to teach the beginning stages of algebra.  That did not come until 7th grade in my time.

Heck some nights, I have to ask myself, am I smarter than a 3rd grader.

Yeah, totally not!!!!  I love watching that show, but it is really humbling.  A lot of the things I remember having learned, but couldn't tell you the answer anymore.  And sadly, a lot of the things I know I didn't learn until middle school or high school.  My dad loves that show too and doesn't believe that those are legitimately grade school questions.  I tell him things have changed a little.

I watched a small portion of that show once and when the adult did not know the answer to the question was James Madison (can't remember the question though) I got upset and turned it off.  I lost all hope of him being smarter...

I'd like to think so,  I don't watch the show, I don't want to be proven otherwise;)

I've never seen the show. But I can say No , I'm probably not smarter.
