Everyone says "Patience is a virtue" and I bet you are totally aware of that now.  Congratulations.  I can't wait to be a part of that freedom.  Hopefully Nathan will be there soon.

I've read in a previous post that someone successfully potty trained.. (yay!) But I was wondering how do you get them to go? I let my son Kameron run around the house naked, but he just goes where he is. When he's finish, he comes and pulls me to the spot so I can clean it up. But I seem to always miss the timing.. ANY adivice would be greatly appreciated.

As far as potty training goes my little girl was a breeze. I will be attempting to potty train my little boy soon and my mother told me that she got my brother to go fairly easy and fast by letting him go to the bathroom with daddy and then he wanted to do what daddy did. She said it only took a couple of attempts and he was trained. Hope it helps!!

EmbarassedIt's kind of emberasing for me. My three year old is leraning how to go to the bathroom. Hes naked all day and yes he goes to the bathroom and the part he likes the most is that he gets to flush the toilet. When ever he weats underpants he goes! I also have a five year old that know how to go but gets lazy, and you know. My eight year old cant wake up at night to go so he usually wakes up wet. I have my hands full I am trying to teach my one and three year old to go.

I had such a hard time with my son as well....

the trick is let him get fimialier with the toilet put him on there before bath time, before bed and when he wakes up in the morning, as far as during the day put him on the toilet every 45 min, to an hour and see if he goes, do a reward when he does. I made up a weeks of calender and we put stickers on the calender every time he went. He was so proud of himself, and they just all of a sudden your son will just get the hang of soing on the BIG POTTY.

good luck to you and your son, it will take some time but when it is time he will tell u....

I don't have a whole lot of advice because I'm still in the midst of training.  One thing to rememberis to not rush him.  My ped. said that if you try and rush potty training when they aren't ready, it will take longer.

We do the sticker chart with Karson as well and he loves that.  Just keep it fun and take him/her often!

My elijah loves the potty(he's two), and goes every chance he can get, he loves to flush and then when he is done he brushes his teeth and washes his hands. He thinks the potty is a reward. I do not think it is something that should be rushed. my son takes his diaper off and runs to the bathroom and waits for me to let him in. he has one of those potty seats that you put on the toilet seat and a stool to get on it. he puts the seat on when he is ready and takes the seat off when he is done. I did send him in the potty with his daddie and that is what started the whole thing. he calles daddie to the potty when he is in there to show him and everything.

I have been wrestling an aligator for the last few weeks. My almost 2 yo daughter doesn't want to wear a diaper, pull up, underwear and sometimes even clothing. This keeps me very much on my toes as she has no regard for warning that she needs to go to the bathroom ( she does let me know that she went though).

When I do need to get her dressed to go out in public, it is horrible. It can take up to an hour of gentle persuasion to get her in a diaper/pull up or even clothing. Or it is about 10 min of wrestling an aligator.

Please help!

Have her help you pick out her clothes.  Also, maybe try big girl underpants - have her pick them out when you buy them.  Even if she puts them on over diaper or pull up - it may work.

My daughter went thru that - she would fight me to get dressed, and then would always want one of 2 dresses - so they got washed alot!  BUt what ever it takes.

Hope this helps a little.

I remember potty training well!Smile  It was harder with my first child than it was with any of my other children.  I learned from my mistakes, and did not repeat them!  There was quite honestly nothing funnier than a 215 lb. pregnant woman trying to "use" the child's potty chair so that she would understand where she was supposed to go potty! UGH!  Once I got down, it wasn't so easy to get back up.Embarassed  I really remember needing alot of patience and using alot of praise.  Those two things made it so much easier.

 Best Wishes!Smile
