Ugh.  I thought E and I were doing well.  He has had some good nights at home. Behavior has been o.k.  Weather has been nice so he has been able to play.  But today I got an email from his teacher that says he told her he didn't eat breakfast so she sent him to the nurse to get something to eat.  And while in the nurse's office he spit it out all over himself like a baby. So he got in trouble.    BOY OH BOY!!!  I am the mom from H double hockey sticks!  E has never been big into breakfst even as a baby!  I have been trying to push brkfst on him especially protein b/c it is good for his behavior!  But now I feel like I just totally failed him b/c I didn't make sure he had a three course meal!

Nolan is terrible when it comes to breakfast to.  I try to keep the same school schudule all week.  Eating breakfast at the same time everyday keeps him on a eating routine.  If you drive him to school keep granola bars and juice boxes handy- one last ditch effort before he gets into the class.  Sounds like you have a class clown- Nolan too.  I have to tell DS time to be silly and I time to be settled.  Good luck.

my ds (now a teen) has always had an issue w/ breakfast, too. i would give him 2 choices; toast w/ a lil jelly/jam or pancakes w/ jelly/jam. now youre thinking "pancakes? is she nuts? thats takes too long!" well not the way i do them. i use those very large cookie cutters and placed them on my electric skillet and filled, using an ice cream scoop, w/ pancake mix. i also made them once a week and put in frig or freeze. when needed, i popped them into the toaster so they take same amount of time as toast.

i also woke my ds up a half hour earlier and let him watch a 30 min video. he didnt seem to be able to handle food so soon after waking. this seemed to help lots.

my granddaughter has showed early signs of not being able to handle food so soon after waking. she needs almost an hour. good thing we live a block from all schools otherwise this would be more problematic. course being a girl, she will probably want more time than that to "get ready" in the morns! LOL!
