I grounded my daughter for a week from the TV and computer for taking my husband's MP3 player and for taking $40 from me. That part wasnt so bad. Part was I yelled at her in front of her friend and I found out that she gave $20 to her friend. So her friend came to tell me that she will give me the money back but that she cant talk to my Daughter for awhile. Maybe for good. I dont know. I hope not. Wasnt meaning for that to happen. I didnt want a good friendship to end. That really upsets me. I know I did the right thing in about grounding her but the other part I didnt want that to happen. Now I feel like $#%*!! ....

 

I think we all do things in the heat of the moment with our families we later regret. What your daughter did was wrong but what an honest friend she has, maybe after things cool off you can help mend the fences. Tell her friend you hate to see your daughter lose a good friend who might make a postive influence on her life,especially when times are tough.

Keri, try not to feel guilty....... You are doing and DID the right thing... Peer pressure often helps as much it can hurt...... and if other child genuinely  didnt know it was stolen from you  thats a good thing  and if she was in on it  you still did right thing.... Just may save both girls from serious trouble in future

Well the grounding part I have no problem with. I didnt want my daughters friendship to end. That part I didnt have any part of.  That just upsets me. I hope it blows over soon. Just hurts my feelings.
