Title: Lactating, but the preg. test is negative.
Posted: 10 months ago

Hello everyone! I am about 2 weeks late with my period and am lactating, but recieved (several) negative pregnancy tests. Last month I had messed (missed) up my pills. Does anyone know if the lactating might be happening because I messed up my pills or please any other thoughts? I have an 18 month year old and this would be my second pregnancy. It's just so strange. Has anyone else experienced this?! Thanks!!

You might want to see a dr.  Sometimes women can continue to lactate even though they are not preggers on nursing

I would see a doc. some times with home prego test its early for them to read and the doc. can even do blood work to check. I took a couple test and I had a feeling I was cause the way I felt. Well I was almost  2 months when I found out. Then I was able to go to the doc. But they would be able to tell you what is going on.

It is possible to continue lactating after you stop nursing, but I think it is continuous - it probably would just start.  I'm sure the pills and cycles can have something to do with it too, the hormones probably got a little off balance with missing some.

Like everyone else has said, I would at least call the docotor and let the nurse run the scenario by your docotor to see if it warrants a visit or just make an appointment.
