Just so my DH does not have another "I knew it" moments on a PHX team aquireing an older start, I want him to do really well.

I think it's a bad, bad, bad idea. The Suns are already struggling without Marion. The last couple of games should have been easy wins for them and they barely won them. I think it's going to be a hard fit because the team and Shaq play two completely different styles of ball. I doubt Shaq will be satisfied playing the role of large defender since he's used to being a star.

For some 40 years, the hue and cry has been 'phx would be great with a big man' or 'small ball will get you there, but it takes a big man to win the ring' and so forth.

Last season( and all seasons previously) I was 100% for the Spurs, although their Renaissance ended when the Admiral retired. Now I'm about 60/40 Spurs/Suns. I think Shaq will energize the team. Not only is he huge, but he has a huger than life attitude, and I like that. He is witty, entertaining and should be fun to watch. Big guys can't run like little guys, but then they don't have to. I'm tired of reading how old he is, how slow he is, etc. Any guy who is 325 lbs with 12% body fat is in impressive shape. Naysayers, beware! Estella

He is definitely up there compared to most of the players. But I think the guys are taking better care of themselves and the trainers are doing better at avoiding injuries. The only time Shaq's age should be a factor is retirement. He is roughly the same age as Nash and Hill. If all of those guys retire around the same time, Phoenix is going to play hell trying to rebuild the team. But for now, all of those guys are capable of making the Suns a championship team. Woo Hoo. Go Suns!!! .

Why didn't Manu make the team?! I don't understand it. Tony Parker had the bum ankle, but was Manu injured? I don't think so. He might have been just what we needed. Estella
