I love to travel when I can    but flyings one of my fave modes for speed of journey.... yet I ADRE Boats too hehheh, and have always wanted to travel by train on an overnite  journey  firstt cass of course hehheh not coach.... However lots to be said for traveling longer journeys where times not a big factor by car as so much more to see and do off the beaten pathes..... Busses can be fun and interesting   but LONG and HOT!!!!!    WHEWWWW  So all things  whats your faveourite method of travel? And the big WHY ?

I rarely travel.  Most recently I took a bus with my eldest son on a field trip (the really big kind with TVs and a bathroom).  We had alot of fun!

Typically the farthest I travel is from the computer to my kitchen for nourishment.  I rely on my good old legs and feet for that!

For me it depends on the destination.  I like flying and enjoy the benefits of the speed.  However, I like to have the flexibility of driving.

Going to SoCal from AZ, I'd prefer driving.  By the time you back up for the airport and all that goes with flying, you would pretty much be at the end point at the same time.

 

driving mainly since thats how most my trips have been taken. flying just sounds like such a hassle.

MY FAVORITE IS THE CAR I LOVE TO PLAY RODE GAMES LIKE SLUG BUG, WHAT IF AND I SPY.

We are a driving family - with 5 can not afford to fly, unless it is a really far distance.  Even when we moved here from FL, we drove instead of taking the flying option, it was a nice trip except for the car jacking in Baton Rouge.  Even with the kids being small they still remember stuff htey saw along the way.

Would love to fly everywhere due to the getting there sooner, but the rental car thing - YUCK!

Well Its time to Start Planning again    And Now With Gas prices  comparable to Canada or overseas    well at least few years back  Hows tat gonna affect travel plans and methods???

Yes, gas prices on the rise do make you think and adjust!  We're still planning a SoCal beach trip and we'll drive.  However, we may not stay as many days as last year so that the total expense balances out.

We are also planning one flying adventure - hoping Rivers enjoys it.  I think it should do just fine since we are going with my mom, stepdad, grandma and brother - there will be plenty of us to entertain him.

Otherwise, just planning local activities to keep cool and enjoy the summer!

I won't get on a place unless I have too or im buzzing! I usually travel by car. My dh is the one that drives and he is good at it so i trust him. I get sea sick so no boats for me.

i really really wanted to go to san diego this summer since we havent gone in so long but with gas up, the price of hotels and tim not knowing when he can take time off work ive lost all hope of going. i really really need to get away from this house for a few days im stuck here constantly.

Well, I do like flying because of the speed and convenience, but I haven't flown anywhere since Randy and I took a little vacation when Emma was a baby.  Mostly we have just done car trips.  As of right now, we don't really have much planned for this summer, other than visiting my parents and Randy's sisters.  I do think it would be kind of fun to do a train trip in a nice sleeper car sometime.  But yeah, I do think driving tends to work well with the kids.  They both do well in the car and you can play fun little games and take cool little breaks and there's always fun stuff to see.
