A lot of experiences that are good. But I have thought a lot about homeschooling and would be willing to try it... A daily good deed brings joy to your life. |

They have a hard time fitting in once they are in public school. Think it out, ask around, see the results. |

Actually, studies have shown that home-schooled children are just as socially skilled and educated as public-school children. |

I do the majority of the teaching, with him filling in twice a week so I can sleep in a little bit, but we have been doing it for two years, and our son is doing amazing! We go on field trips and socialize with other parents and homeschooled kids so that he gets all the interaction he needs. There is no reason why you should be afraid to homeschool your child based on socialization. The curriculum is planned out by me, and we do follow a certain set of subjects that he has to study, according to the state, but we have encountered no problems with him not wanting to go to school or him not applying himself to his work. If anything, it has made things more interesting around our house, because he feels comfortable enough to ask questions about things that his teachers at public school might not be able to answer. Every day we find new learning opportunities, and he loves it, and so do my husband and I. |

The only stipulation is that you need to be willing to put up the money for your children to partcipate in extra-curricular sports, girl/boy scouts, etc. As expected, it is going to take more effort on the parent's part, financially and time-wise.
My husband and I have actually been contemplating whether or not to home-school our own daughter. What it all boils down to is time and money. If you don't have the time or the money, then it might be better to send your child to public school. Otherwise, do not fear an unbalanced child. Just be sure to nuture all their needs and abilities. :D
