The Handy (Wo)Man
So you might know that I have been busting my hump working in my bathroom for the last week or so. Things are coming along nicely... BUT not as fast as I had hoped. I have a toilet in there now and the tile floor is done. Today we ventured out to get the pipes needed to move the plumbing about four inches forward so my new pedestal sink can fit in there. We got the tub too but at the moment it sets in my dinning room along with the tile to do the kitchen.
So this blog is in titled the Handy(Wo)Man because I have been trying really hard to do as much as I can with out the assistance of the men folk. I have been reminded that the work at hand is Handy MAN work for a reason! GASP...they were just joking but it really makes me think. So far in this project I have stabbed my self in the leg with the aluminium strips that were holding my dated drop ceiling. Broken the claw off the hammer trying to pry a nail out of the ceiling, then bent another. I busted a screw on the flange for the toilet...can I say pain in the ass. Then I broke a saw blade, that didn't belong to my DH or myself. I felt real bad about that. I helped with the tile floor and noticed that after we got all the grout done that I missed some mortar that was now showing threw the grout.... that i had to take out and do over. sad, sad, sad.
So is it HAndy man work, man work for a reason? or are they better at it because they do it more often? not saying that I'm not good at it but it just seems easier for them. I still refuse to except that a man is better then me at something... and it just so happens that it is at the handy man occupation. So I figure after this I'll be real good at all sorts of things right. lessons learned! I will carry the title handy woman with pride!
LMAO sounds like me:)
