I Love my city I so got community pride... to the point that it sickens my husband and friends. I grew up here I left here and came home here to raise my family. Now I am having a hard time dealing with the school system here. ...

Well it happened, my Brad turned 6 this past weekend. we had a blast at his party, with water fights and musical chair to the black crows, pinata, cake pizza, what more could a boy want:) during musical chairs I had one mom look at me and say with that look on her face like oh my god???? What is this that they are playing musical chairs to. I was like black crowes! you now the guys who sing to hard to handle, then I ran down the list of song s that get radio time. "ah NO", she didn't know who they were. Makes my heart hurt. I even got a few looks when Brad got the stereo too, Jess and I bought him his first stereo and the beginnings of his own music collection its what he ask for, Do you think I would spend money on something like a stereo if he hadn't ask for it? Hes six, I didn't get a stereo until I was like 13. At any rate boy child always gets what he wants for b day so we got him what he asked for which were the stereo some of his very own Cd's which included bob Marley, they had this box set at Wal mart super cheep, some sublime, and of course Nirvana never mind, all his own, he was so happy. we were so proud:) He also asked for some collectible DBZ guys, and some transformer and Ben ten guys too, we got him all that.
I keep looking at him thinking about how he used to fit on my torso so snug, and just lay there and not wiggle just lay there with his head resting on my chest and his cute little hands pulling my hair that was long enough for him to reach. How its all I can do now to get the boy to give me a hug, and in the evenings when we read stories and I want to snuggle up with him he totally isn't into it, I can tell! It's like yeah mom, we can read a story, only cause it will make you happy, hurry up already. He is growing up way to fast. What's a mommy to do? I can't stop him from growing up? or can I? :)
