My name is Rachel I live in ohio I'm a big music lover... I am a stay at home mom (domistic engineer). I have a beautiful daughter Olivia shes 2 and a witty 4 year old son Bradley. I used to be a pre sschool teachers asst. for 5 years befor Bradley was born. After that it was kinda pointless to work and pay daycare almost half of what I made so my husband and I decided to pull up our boot straps, pinch our pennies, tighten our belts, and make a go of it ... making it on one income. Its tuff but it is working. I am just greatful that our ends are meeting. I hope to hear from you guys soon maybe in the chat room... whats up with that chat room nobodys ever in there when i go in there? it must be to late for everyone. I'm a night owl thats the only time I get me time.
Rachel Joined: 12/15/06 Posts: 2280	Title: Drinking form a Sippy Cup Posted: 2 yearss ago Both of my children used sippies at 6 months at that time they were aloud to only have juice in them and only at meal times(meals that were solid food). I think the whole thing about it being juice something sweet that they only got from the sippy turned them on to it. they never got juice in a bottel or in thier cereal it was just in that cup twice aday... we used the advent sippys they were firm yet soft alot to clean though... theres like 3 or 4 parts in the lid, no big deal if you have a dish washer.

I have all the origianl hard wood floors it this beautiful square pattern. they are awesome when we bought the house and pulled up the carpet it was like finding a treasure.there has been an addition added on to the house, the play room right off the kitchen and just some more kitchen space.the kitchen really is the center of our home we spend alot of time in here.living room is huge,and a nice fomal dinning room. we have 3 bed rooms, 2 baths an attic we would like to finish and make more living space and a basement that is in the works right now we just have to figure what we are going to do about the floors down there. (tile, carpet, linolium) who knows?oh and no white walls in the whole house no beige either all color every room.

Posted: 2 yearss ago I know for sure it would be a disaster! jess him self has even said he would hate to do my job. he is the nervous type all high strung, defenatly no patience for dealing with the whinning and 100 questions a day. but hes good at his part of parenting. he plays alot with the kids in the evening so i can do things like this. if it did happen my house would not be very neat anymore. he is as bad as one of the kids.

Rachel Joined: 12/15/06 Posts: 2280	Title: Katrina Shawver's Feature -- Talking Sex With Teenagers Posted: 2 yearss ago It happened when bradley was 2.5 to 3 it was an on going conversation... you know how they are at that age the same thing a million times, weather it be books, games, fav. out fit or the where do babies come from question. at first I tried to just say that god sends two people who love each other a baby... that worked for like a day! I tried to explain it away in so many different ways he just was not satisfied with any of my answers. so thats where the animal plante channel came in. one day while taking a rare break from house work i was flipping through the channels (brad playing on living room floor) the phone rang i excused myself to answer the phone upon my return Bradley was staring at the Tv wide eyed with his mouth open." mommy what are they doing " there it was in on the tv, my answer to the question i couldn't seem to answer. That bradley is how babies are made baby animals that is. I then proceeded with caution to tell him that people babies where made kinda the same way. and you know he was satisfied with that he hasn't said another word about it... I do plan on always keeping an open line about sex in this home I think it helps when the kids get info from parents and not thier peers. I know my mom talked about it alot with me and i think it helped.

Rachel Joined: 12/15/06 Posts: 2280	Title: cold tricks Posted: 2 yearss ago if your using a bulb boogie suckers like at the hospital try using a nasal asperator they sell them by the thermometors and what not at most drug stores. the difference is that the nasal asperator is short and rounded not long and pointed. thats what did the trick for my little one she dosn't mind at all now to get her boogies sucked. babys vicks is good too but you might want to ask your Ped. if its ok for your baby.

I only wear 1 necklace with of course my cross, and two pendents of my childrens birthstones, I never take it off ever. they have tried to make me take it off at the hospital before and i refused. and then I wear my wedding set and an anniversary ring past present and future dimiond ring thats it. oh and they are all white gold. I have never worn yellow gold. don't know why I just don't care for it to much.
