RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 5 months ago I would have to agree Jan! I try and keep my disfunctional family to myself behind closed doors. LOL! mommy02...I didn't realize that she had all that help. It seemed on the episode that I watched, she was doing it all herself. I only watched part of the one show and I thought Kate was so rude to her husband. She actually insulted him (more than once) right in front of the kids...and the camera crew... and it was recorded for the world to see. That is not to say I am not occasionally rude to my hubby, but usually not right in front of my kids and while being filmed for television. I have slightly better common sense. (Just slightly) Anyway, I have no plans to watch it again. About the only things I got out of the show were fertility treatments aren't for everyone and sometimes more is not better. Surprising since I just watched the one show. Less is BEST!

All of my kids are well past this stage, but the title of the article caught my eye. Not even sure if this will work. I know my children weren't trained in a day, but maybe some of the info might help.

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 5 months ago Yes, I watched it. Honestly, can't the writers of all the TV shows/Movies come up with anything new? What is with all the remakes, reinventing old shows, and Reality TV? I would rather read a book. Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 5 months ago The first house I grew up in, until I was 11, is about 2000 miles away from where I live now. LOL! My parents moved here with my sister and I in 1981. They originally bought a home which we lived in for a few years. My Mom's health problems made it difficult for her to keep up with all the housework (she did everything inside and outside-she loves yardwork-even when it is 115 degrees out). They bought a condo within the same school district and we all lived there through my High School years and the start of my College years. When I got married and moved out, my sister moved out and they decided to buy a home that was all on one floor. The condo had 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs which was for my sis and I. They actually bought a home just a few blocks away from where my hubby and I purchased our 1st home. We continued to live pretty close to each other until my family moved to the West Side. We needed more space and houses in our existing area were over priced. My parents had 2 custom homes built, the latest being a smaller home for their retirement. Hubby, me, and the kiddos moved farther West for an even larger house to accomodate the growing family. My parents are about 35 minutes away from our home. We do get to see them often. Neither of us has any plans to move again. I do wish that my parents lived closer, but they enjoy having land and desert views which is something you just don't get being closer to town. Several years ago we went back to Chicago for a family reunion. We stayed at my Mom's best friend's home, whom lived right next door to the house I grew up in. Nobody was home, so we didn't get to see what the house looked like inside, but we got some great family pictures standing on the porch. Of all the houses my parents have ever had, that home in Chicago and the condo in Scottsdale are the ones for which I have the most memories.

Yep, just what I'd expect from a guy. Anyway, kudos to him for taking coupons. My hubby just doesn't get the concept, or why it takes me two hours to shop, in a new store, with numerous coupons. Had my coupons been in order of the products locations, it would have been much quicker. That and the fact that I had originally asked for help, which ultimately he wanted no participation in. I just prefer to do the shopping myself. Yes, it is totally a chore. Yes, I would love to have help, but a grouchy hubby or a teenager who runs the cart into your heels while texting on her phone and pushing the cart, just don't seem like the help I need. RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 4 months ago This is one of those times when I think that the media has failed us. There seems to be tons of unanswered questions. If the father had custody, why then was the child allowed to go live with her mother? Why didn't the mother have custody, there must have been a reason, was the mother unfit as a parent to begin with? What type of inappropriate photos are we talking about, barely clothed, gang signs, what? Inappropriate can mean tons of stuff, she is only 12. Where was the school trip? Was it to be chaperoned, all girls, boy and girls? Was it a learning trip for class credit, or was it strictly a reward? The girl doesn't deserve the reward based on the information provided. If she can't follow the rules at home, she wouldn't follow the rules on the trip. And while I feel the punishment fits the crime, there still are unanswered questions. In the story, the mother seems to be the problem. She apparently has no problem with her daughter not abiding by her father's rules. If I had to guess why the daughter sued her father, I would guess that the mother had something to do with it. Clearly, counseling is required for all parties. Having children is a huge responsibility and commitment and even if parents divorce, they need to be on the same page or willing to comprimise when it comes to raising their children. I read nothing about abuse in this story. The courts should not have been involved. Can a 12 year old actually sue a parent without the aide of an adult? Yet another question.... Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 4 months ago I haven't been watching much TV since summer started. I really enjoy reading and have stacks of books that keep me busy after the kids go to bed. Last week, I did watch The Baby Borrowers. Despite my feelings about Reality TV, I enjoyed this show. Probably because there is no prizes, no winners, and no eliminations. It is just a group of young adults (can we even call them that), that want to have babies. They get first hand experience with infants, toddlers, pre-teens, teens, and the elderly. It is a real eye opener for some and a great learning experience. We will see how this week's episode goes and if I will continue watching.

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 4 months ago I am so confused! I looked at a couple people's Wish Lists, and their current children are way too old for what they have on their lists. Does this mean it is for future children? or are they items that they recommend for new mommy & daddys?

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 4 months ago My suggestion...call your doctor. I was exposed by a neighbor's daughter to Fifth's Disease before it was confirmed that I was pregnant. My friend told me her daughter wasn't a danger to anyone unless they were pregnant, which of course I knew that there was a possibility I might be pregnant, but we hadn't confirmed it yet. I called my doctor right away. I had bloodwork done and it turned out I was immune. Everything turned out fine, baby was totally healthy and I had no complications of any sort. I found this website for information. Hope it helps... http://www.pregnancy-info.net/risk_factors_fi ... Less is BEST!

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 4 months ago It must have been really hard for JonBenet's family to live under the black cloud of suspicion for all these years. Patsy Ramsey must have suffered terribly with not only the loss of her daughter, but the debilitating cancer that eventually took her life. And then, what about the father and son that are still left here on Earth. I hope that the killer is eventually caught and some justice can be brought to this family. Terribly sad story. RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 4 months ago We have had all of our homes built from the ground up, so we know about home inspection, but from the other end. We were the seller's and the inspections were done on our homes when we sold them. It was always a "hold your breath" moment, hoping that there wasn't anything majorly wrong with our house that would change the prospective buyer's minds. Our homes were only a few years old, but let's face it, cookie cutter houses are not built to last for hundreds of years, they typically make it just past warranty expiration. LOL! So, while we have no plans to move anytime soon (maybe when we retire), our home has just past the 5 year mark and so far so good. No major repairs have been needed. We could use a little paint to cover up some of the fingerprints that don't wash off, but what the heck...that adds a little character.

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 4 months ago Thank goodness I live in America! I would not knowingly eat dog, or rat, or scorpion, or crickets, or snake...let's face it my list goes on and on of things I would prefer not to eat. Luckily, it's my choice. And while I am kind of grossed out about the thought of dog being served, I have no plans to be at the Olympics either. If I was, I would certainly skip those entrees.
