RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 5 months ago My parents didn't send my sister or myself to preschool, they just couldn't afford it. We lived in Addison, IL, and my sister and I had alot of friends growing up. We stayed outside and played until the streetlights came on. My Mom was in poor health and her doctor told her she needed to live in a different climate. That was right before my 11th birthday. My parents sold everything, found and bought an older fixer upper house in Scottsdale and we moved to AZ. My Dad didn't even have a job. We went back to visit family on several occasions and my sister and I went to see some of our friends. I have since lost touch with all of those friends. I have friends here that I have known for years. We live all over the Valley now, most married with children, some work full-time, and some just dropped off the face of the earth when my son became ill. Life just happened and we moved on. I have made a few great friends over the last few years and I cherish any time we get to spend together. Girls night out, Game Night, BBQ's, or playdates. Those are the memories I hope my children will remember.

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 5 months ago I read this article this morning. Then re-read it just to make sure that what I originally read was correct. These are truly girls that are missing something in their lives. Maybe it is love or the lack of self esteem, at any rate making a pact to get pregnant doesn't seem like the most brilliant idea. The article stated that there are normally about 4 pregnancies a year. It also stated that nearly half of the expecting students were part of the pact, so exactly how many is that? I might not be great in math, but that still leaves several girls pregnant that were not part of the pact and almost doubles the average amount of pregnant girls at the school for the year. You can be young, in love, and having a sexual relationship without getting pregnant. It is called birth control. I prefer abstinence, but I am not naive. Teenagers of today take risks without thinking of the consequences. The parents should be educating their children, clearly that is not happening at this school. Less is BEST!

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 5 months ago I am so glad that he gets to come home. Is he going to be using an apnea monitor? My youngest son used one for 6 months (he was 6 weeks premature and stopped breathing the morning after we brought him home). The monitor was a huge comfort. It did beep sometimes for no reason, but I usually just had to adjust the strap and make sure the leads were fastened. If he does get that type of monitor, unless they have changed since my son had his, I would suggest putting him in 2 piece outfits. Onesies made it next to impossible to get to the unit which was wrapped around my son's chest. Best wishes.

My kids have been out of school, we have been using the pool, our air conditioning has been on, and eldest DS just finished his 3rd week of Summer School. It is hot hot hot here! I think we are on streak of temperatures in the triple digits. I read it might cool off mid-week...to 108 degrees. LOL! Cool off?, now that's funny! Less is BEST!

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 5 months ago I had my truck broken into right after I got married and had moved into hubby's apartment. It was in a pretty nice area. They broke out the entire back window of my truck and stole the stereo and all of the components (woofers, tweeters, and whatever else hubby had put in). The Police Officer that came to take the report basically said that it was our fault for having nice things. He said that there had been alot of thefts from vehicles as well as vehicles being stolen in our area. Now, I have absolutely nothing, and I mean nothing against Police Officers, I completely respect the job they do, 99% of officers are really good people, but his response down right pi**ed me off! I was able to see my truck from our apartment balcony and actually went as far as sleeping by that window to make sure that my truck wouldn't be stolen. Here's where I went and got really stupid (luckily not dead)...Hubby worked nights, I woke up and saw a vehicle stopped by my truck and a guy getting out. I was mad, went to the kitchen and got a knife and ran down to the parking lot (we lived on the 3rd floor). When I got to my truck, the vehicle was gone. I checked to make sure my windows hadn't been broken out. Everything seemed fine, but then as I turned to go back towards my apartment I saw 2 men in a truck, parked backwards in a parking spot a couple spots down from my truck...just staring at me. I got a little scared and I started walking quickly back to the gate and they sped off, I ran to the front of the complex to try and get their plate number. I couldn't see it. I found out from my FIL that 2 men had been arrested for a string of burglaries in our area. They had mentioned that on one of their attempts to break into some vehicles at the apartment complex where hubby & I lived, some "crazy b***h" had come out to the parking lot before that had a chance to steal anything. Apparently, they suggested that they would have killed her had she not gotten away so quickly. Yep, that idiot was me! So much for being brave. I have a new theory now, if you want to steal my stuff, feel free...don't hurt us and if your taking the tv's, please don't forget the remotes! Less is BEST!

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 5 months ago I always thought 2 kids was perfect (I am 1 of 2), my hubby always said he wanted 6 children (he is 1 of 3). My hubby was happy with two children, I on the other hand always felt like something was missing, so 4 seems perfect to me.
