Well that explains it!  The question didn't ask if I serve hubby breakfast or dinner. LOL!  I get up in the morning, get dressed, and serve my KIDS their breakfast.  My hubby is still in bed!  He is also not home for dinner, but the kiddos and I always eat at the same time.  I also got tons and tons of extra points (well, really only 20) for having four kids.

1930s Marital Scale

The scores on this test are weighted like the scores from the original scale. Each one is worth +1, -1, +5, -5, +10, -10, +20 or -20, and are added up at the end to produce the final score. The wife test has a question about the number of children, and that number is multiplied by 5 to produce the score for that question. The husband's test does the same for the number of dates with the wife question. The questions about "Uses alcohol. If ever drunk" is a bit unclear on the original test, and after discussion with a friend I used the interpretation that "Uses alcohol" equals -1, and "If ever drunk" is -5, thus giving a total of -6 if both are checked. Feel free to adjust your scores appropriately if you disagree. :D

If you spot any inconsistencies with the original scoring system, please let me know telophase14 at gmail dot com) - it's a lot of scores to keep track of and I might have typoed something when coding it. Enjoy!

Totally understand being concerned about children and internet use,  but the Wii? LOL!  Now that's a new one. Laughing

Times have changed.  As a parent of a teenager, I think it is so important to keep the lines of communication open.  And while I think I am fairly open minded, we still have rules that I expect to be followed.  My children are not allowed to surf the net without adult supervision.

I guess I can see that side.  Anything in large doses, be it video games, televsion, and even surfing the internet, they are all brain rot and bad for you in one way or another.

I always think of the internet as a little less safe.  The pedophile/ex-cop aspect of the article stuck in my head. That's what gave me the chuckle when compared to the Wii.  Not even close to the same thing.

While I think looking up information on the internet can be helpful in many ways, the internet can be dangerous with predators of many kinds.  The internet is just not really a place that I feel comfortable letting my teenage daughter surf.  Of course, that is just me.  It is probably safe to say that my brain has way more rot than my daughter's considering all the time I sit in front of this computer.Wink

Pezzy...you seem to know a great deal about cars, do you think the air powered car will make it to production?

I found the article really interesting and it stated that there was going to be a six-seat version.  That would be awesome!Smile

Our doctor refuses to give out antibiotics unless one of my children actually have some type of bacterial infection.  I want Susan's doc! LOL!  Many times I just happened to go to the doctor too soon, my Mom instincts work way to well, and had to go back a couple days later and then they would give me antibiotics.

Personally, I can see both sides.  You have taken your kids to the doctor and they were diagnosed with a cold, no biggie.  As a Mom, nothing frustrates me more than people bringing their sick children over to my home or sending their sick kids to school and infecting my kids.

Really, your kids chances of getting sick while on the plane are super high.  The recirculated air has got to be just full of germs.  My neighbor travels for her job and has gotten sick every single time she has ever flown.  At least once every month for the 5 years I have known her.

I can see why you are torn.  I would want to tell my SIL, but I wouldn't want to upset my hubby by going against his wishes.  Tough spot.

Maybe you can pump your kids full of vitamins and extra water.  There are tons of cold remedies out there that will help with the snotty/runny noses and coughs.  While you are there, make sure your kids wash their hands frequently (have wipes or sanitizer handy) and have them limit their physical contact with the baby (like putting their hands on the baby's hands or face).  These things should help and give you some piece of mind that you took every precaution necessary to prevent your children from getting the baby sick.

Best wishes.Smile

We moved from IL to AZ right after I turned 11.  School had already started in AZ so I was the new kid.  It was awful.  Kids were mean, stole my school supplies and laughed at my accent.  What accent?! Kids can be so cruel.  I can look back and laugh about it now, but 6th grade does not hold happy memories for me.Laughing

My parents did move again, but I was able to go to the same HS so that was great.
