Well, I have decided that I should try and come up with some type of Resolution for the New Year.  It is a customary practice and I have done it every other year.  I had been focusing on losing weight and getting healthy.  Since I have achieved my weight loss goal, (3 years, 85 lbs., and countless miles later! LOL) and since I continue to make time to exercise to stay healthy, I need to come up with something new.  I have decided that I need to practice having more patience with my children.  I seem to always be in a rush to get things done, and my children seem to always be moving at a snail's pace.Smile  I am going to try and remember that my way isn't always the best way, and that I should be so proud of them for trying to be independent.  They are growing up so fast right before my eyes, and before I know it they will be grown and off to college.  I will try and savor every moment and appreciate the little things!Smile

I also have a 6 year old son, and we haven't hit this stage yet.  I do hear kids more often now talking about other children of the opposite sex being 'hot'.  I have often wondered if they even know what that means.  Our children today seem to be maturing at a much faster rate than they did back when I was a kid.  I don't remember there being so much talk about sex and such until around when I was in the 6th grade.  Things have most certainly changed since then.

I wish I could give you some helpful advice.  I am not even sure what I would have done.  It seems to me that you handled yourself well and staying calm had to have been extremely difficult.  Maybe someone else here on the site will be able to give you some suggestions.

Good Luck.

I tried looking on the web for information about how much alcohol is safe to drink while pregnant.  I was surprised to find that it is not recommended to consume any alcohol at all.  I posted the links below.  Speaking with your doctor prior to consuming any alcohol products would probably be a good idea.

We are invited over to a neighbor's home to eat and play games.  My husband is going to make his famous fish (deep fried) and the neighbors can't wait!  It should be alot of fun.  This is the first year in 16 years that my husband has had New Year's Eve off, so I am looking forward to ringing in the New Year with our friends.Smile

I have a slightly different view on the death penalty.  Although I don't necessarily like it, I do think that some people deserve it.  My husband is in law enforcement, and it seems to me that so many people commit crimes with no regard for the consequences of their actions.  If someone is truly guilty of a heinous crime then I feel the death penalty is warranted.  The money that we as tax payers have to spend to keep them fed, clothed and sheltered could be put to better use.  Of course this is just my opinion, and not everyone will feel this way.  Just my 2 cents.

You all have very good points, and maybe something for me to think about.  I never thought about Saddam Hussein turning into a martyr for his followers.  I was more focused on him paying for his crimes and vindication for his victims.  Maybe I should have thought about the bigger picture.  Thank you for letting me voice my opinion, and for sharing your own opinions without being judgemental.  Not only do I appreciate it, but I gained some insight on others views of the death penalty.

I have a good friend who is going to stop smoking this year.  She is getting help with medication that her doctor prescribed for her. It is called Varenicline (Chantix).  I found a website that has an article about it.  Hope this helps. Best of Luck.Smile

That is so cute.Smile  My Mother made my two eldest children their Christmas stockings, in keeping with the family tradition.  My Grandmother had made the Christmas stockings for my sister and I when we were born.  My Mom had some difficulty with her eyesight, so I made the stockings for my youngest two children (and the dogWink).

My daughter loves the Backyardigans!  I like how it gets the children to use their imaginations. Even little ones seem interested in this show.Smile

I really enjoy watching Grey's Anatomy.  I also watch Desperate Housewives and Lost, but Grey's Anatomy is by far my favorite.  There hasn't been to much on TV lately, so I find myself watching HGTV often.  I enjoy House Hunters, Designed to Sell, and Flip this House.Smile

I had planned on watching Heroes, and had DVR'd the first episode.  It was a great show, and then I forgot to keep watching it.Embarassed
