It was just disgusting to find out how many germs can get onto things just moments after they are dropped, mostly things that are wet/juicy....dry goods actually do last a few seconds longer. At any rate, we now have a really LARGE dog, she sheds, so I prefer nothing be eaten off of the floor. Now, when my kids were babies, I de-germed a few binki's myself. lol! Less is BEST!

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 8 months ago Great story...one that I remember well. I enjoyed watching how her life is today. It brought a smile to my face to see her all grown up and so well adjusted. Thanks for sharing. :0) Less is BEST!

It is a shame that it happens...material things are just not worth getting into debt over... wish somebody would explain this to my hubby. Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 8 months ago My MIL is a good person...a bit spacey sometimes, but she has a big heart. Her and my FIL are retired and currently live in another country. We don't see them often, but when they are in town they will come and babysit our children and spend a few hours with them. She does occasionally give us a guilt trip, offers advice, and I have gotten the occasional zing (she even dishes them out to her son)... I tend to take them personally, hubby just ignores her. Luckily, hubby and I are on the same page as far as she is concerned, and after all these years (18) I think I have things under control....without resorting to lying or trying to make my MIL feel like she is in control of my family. She is an important part of our family unit, but she will never hold the reins...doesn't mean I love her any less....I accept her just as she is and I hope she feels the same about me...what you see is what you get...the good, the bad, and the ugly! RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 8 months ago Spring Break over here! Kids have had lots of play dates, dad took them fishing, I had to work, and today we went to the movies. Hubby and I also sold one of our cars and cleaned out our garage. As soon as our second car sells, we will be shopping around for another car. We have fun plans for this weekend, which include a car show and a get together with another MommyTalker. I can't wait! :0) Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 8 months ago Ok, so if the backyard is out because of no fence (bummer by the way....)I have no great advice besides driving to a local park or taking a walk with your kids while they ride their bikes or are pulled in a wagon. I would not want to babysit the whole neighborhood either. It has happened a couple of times at our home, when we are ready to go in we send the other kids home. It can be frustrating. We eat dinner pretty early, so usually when the other kids are out we are going in to eat and then we go back out and everyone is going in to eat their own dinner. Makes eating dinner at 4pm totally worth it! LOL!

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 8 months ago I would check with your pediatrician before you do anything. Better to be safe than sorry. Most times when we call to ask our pediatrician questions, his office staff is more than helpful and can tell us what we need to know and what he recommends, if they don't know, they always call us back. Best wishes! :0) Less is BEST!
