Yesterday, we celebrated early Christmas with my parents.  They came over and we opened our gifts.  We do this every year so that the children are not overwhelmed with presents on Christmas Day, and they get to enjoy some one-on-one time with Grandma and Grandpa.  This year my parents brought a video of when I was a child.  It was just about an hour or so of footage from my parents wedding, my sister and I from birth, through  our moving to Arizona.  I was born in Chicago, and there was so much footage of us and our family playing in the snow.  I had forgotten how much fun we used to have, all bundled up making slides and forts out of the snow in the front yard.  All the cousins would come over and we had a blast!Smile  It was a great trip down memory lane, and my children enjoyed seeing me as a baby!  (I think that my eldest daughter was hoping there would be something on that tape that she could make fun of me for...no such luck!Laughing)

The BEST thing happened to me the other day.  No, I didn't win money, I am not taking my dream vacation, and my Husband did not buy me a Range Rover for Christmas (I will have to move across the street if I want that this year! HE!HE!)  I am, like many here  a SAHM.  It is a hard, often thankless job, but I love that I am able to be with my children and watch them grow.  The years are going by so fast, and I don't want to miss a thing.  I am not the perfect parent.  I have flaws, and I have had to apologize once or twice for being wrong.  I have recently decided to help out a new friend with her daycare dilema.  I don't think of myself as a good babysitter as I usually like things a certain way and my children know the rules. It is only going to be for one day a week, and he is already a year and a half old , a good age to play with my daughter. I have done this before (babysitting) when my daughter was younger and it worked out well.  I am finally getting a little freedom, and wasn't sure if  I would have patience or enough energy to chase a little one around the house.  He was a wonderful child and we all enjoyed him tremendously.  That aside, I am looking forward to watching him again.  Ok, so here is the best thing ever...I received a Christmas card and note from his Mom, telling me that I was by far the best babysitter ever that their son has had.Smile  That made me feel great, but more than that, she told me what wonderful children I have, the product of good parenting.  (That was the best thing ever!)  I often wonder if I am doing a good job, my husband tells me I am, but for someone new into our lives, to say that meant alot.  I have been a SAHM for over 12 years, right after my second child was born.  I will soon be joining the outside working world, and it was so nice to hear that I have done such a great job at the job I have LOVED the most!

Just wanted to share...Smile

I have both boys and girls.  My eldest daughter was extremely advanced for her age compared to my nephews.  My eldest son was only slightly behind her at the same age.  I have noticed that with my next two children, they seem to be maturing at a much faster rate.  I attribute that to older siblings.  It amazes me how fast they grow.Smile

Flying is sometihng I truly DO NOT enjoy.  I dislike it so much, that I have not been on a plane for over 7 years.  Besides the crowds and hassle, I have a HUGE FEAR that I just can not get past.  I passed out and was met by the paramedics on one flight to Chicago some years back.  After that, I was given medication, but although I was calm and relaxed to everyone else, I wanted to scream and my skin felt like it was crawling with bugs! YUCK!  I haven't flown since then. Frown

I have started taking some of the ornaments off the tree this morning.  If I have time, I will take down the tree and put away the few decorations that we have inside.  I am not sure when my husband will take down the outside lights, but most likely this weekend when he is off.  It is so nice when I walk in the evenings to see the lights on everyone's homes.  It keeps me in the spirit of the season.Smile

I went to a couple of stores yesterday morning.  I took both my girls with me and left the boys home with Dad.  They are not into shopping.  All of my children received gift cards and money from their Uncle and Great Grandpa.  I didn't find any bargains on toys, but did notice that all of the Christmas decorations, and gift basket items were on clearance.  Despite the stores being busy, the lines at the checkouts were not that bad.  Even at Walmart, where on a regular day your frozen foods would be thawed before you even reach the register!Smile  I am glad that the stores planned ahead for crowds.  It made what I thought was going to be a huge task, not so bad.  I was happy to get home, and out of traffic.Smile

My favorite gift this year came from my SIL.  She got me a Velour PJ Lounge Set.  Every year she gets me a gift I NEVER knew I ALWAYS wanted!  I don't know how she does it, but I LOVE it!Smile

I did not drink with any of my pregnancies.  I was told by my doctor, that anything in small moderation would not hurt the baby (I loved my Diet Coke and chocolate).  I guess that would include alcohol.  Good Luck.Smile

I also am curious if the 'used' diapers mean that they were just missing, or in his closet 'used'.  I happened upon a few websites about Clubbing, this may or may not be what your son is into, but I thought I would post the suggestions, and you can read up on it yourself.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rave ...

http://www.fbi.gov/hq/ood/opca/outreach/clubd ...

My husband is in Law Enforcement, and upon reading your post, this was his first suggestion.  Officers get training in regards to Rave Clubs, and although I wasn't able to find the website that lists wearing diapers as part of the attire, he showed it to me last night.

As I stated before, this is only a suggestion, and as I do not know your son personally, I thought I would just post the information for you to check into.  Asking your son about what he is doing, might also help you out tremendously.

Best of Luck.

This years Christmas gifts were scaled back tremendously.  We purchased only 3 gifts per child (4 children) and I also purchased the gifts that were given to my children by both sets of Grandparents (they gave us the money and I ordered everything online).  This was the first year that they received quality gifts over quantity of gifts.  It was by far the BEST Christmas ever!  My children have been enjoying EVERYTHING that they were given, and despite my concerns that they may be disappointed about not getting everything that they had asked for, they have been so grateful for what they received.Smile  That said, there really wasn't that much wrapping paper to deal with, but those pesky twist ties seemed to be on everything!  Even the electric scissors my BIL received this year weren't able to cut through the ties without some degree of difficulty. We all had a good laugh on that one!Laughing

My BIL & SIL bought one for their 16 year old son.  It apparently was not as expensive as the $600 Playstation 3, so they were pretty excited about that.  So far, my nephew LOVES it.   The games are interactive, which is making it unlike any of the other systems, and alot more fun to play.

My nephew has been busy working (he just got his first job at Toys-R-Us), but manages to play it every chance he gets.Laughing  My SIL had already purchased my nephew a stronger set of straps in a bonus pack, so they weren't all that concerned about the recall.  I would have to agree, that soon enough it will drop in price, and then it will be more affordable for everyone.

I found this cute story in the news.Smile

    http://phoenix.cox.net/cci/entertainmentnews/ ...

My husband did not propose in any elaborate manner.  He had purchased a ring from his parents that his Dad had bought his Mom for their 25th wedding anniversary.  She didn't like the ring, so my husband paid his Dad for the purchase price, and had it sized to fit my finger.  He let me try it on often, but never popped the question.  One afternoon, he took the ring out, had me try it on, again and I said, "Well it's on my finger now, maybe you should do your thing!"  He got down on his knee and proposed, and then he went and asked my DAD!Laughing

We will be celebrating our 16th Anniversary in January.
