RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 12 months ago I recently replaced ground meat with tofu for a breakfast recipe. My family actually thought that it was scrambled eggs! My one son didn't like it, but couldn't tell me why, just that it didn't taste right. My hubby thought it was great even after he found out what it was. I enjoyed it and will certainly be making it again. :0) Less is BEST!

Only you can know what is right for you and your family. Best wishes on whatever you and hubby decide. Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 12 months ago I bought and paid for my first car when I was 16 in 1986. Yep, just aged myself! LOL! That was my all time favorite car...a 1972 VW Bug. It had no air conditioning and an AM radio. Best $3000 I ever spent. 5 years of babysitting money. Loved that car! I traded it in for a brand new 1988 Nissan 4 x 2 pick up truck with custom paint, rims and tires off of the show room floor. It was beautiful! I also paid for almost all of it myself, well the first $11,000, my parents paid $465 so that I wouldn't have to get a loan. I had that truck for years...even after I got married and had kids, until a bad storm sent roof tiles from our home crashing down on it. Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 11 months ago I don't remember my exact age, but I do remember where I lived at the time....Chicago, so it was before I turned 11.....that is when we moved to AZ. A mean little boy at the end of our street told me that there was no Santa. I ran home crying in disbelief. I don't remember what my parents said to comfort me or if we ever discussed it, but I do remember that we started opening all of our presents on Christmas Eve, those were the ones from my parents, and the BIG gift would be under the tree on Christmas Day, with a tag from Santa written in my Mom's handwriting. Wow, I posted this 4 months ago and we are STILL trying (it's actually been a year and a half). I am hoping to get pregnant for Christmas so please send me prayers, Pixie Dust, wishes, hopes, and anything else you think will help. Thanks! Sending happy thoughts, fertile wishes, and tons of hugs your way! Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 11 months ago This year I made something new....Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars. They rocked! I have a pan ready to take to a Christmas Party tonight, and me and hubby (me mostly) have already been into the first two rows. Ugh! They are so good! My parents make a fruit cake that I absolutely love! It is made in an Angel Food Cake pan and is the consistency of cookie dough. It is so hard to explain, most people freak out when they hear "Fruit Cake". It tastes like nothing I have ever tasted before. My parents usually only make it around this time since it is so costly to make...it runs about $60.00 for all of the ingredients. This year Mom made a special brownie recipe. They have Heath Bars in them. Wow! Delicious! We will be eating them tonight! Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 11 months ago I love Couscous! I haven't made it in years. I don't think that any of my children would eat this recipe, but I bet they would have when they were younger. It amazes me how babies are always ready to try new foods. Every now and again, I can get my kiddos to try something new that they have never heard of before. Today...we had Brown Sugar Cinnamon Scones. They were really good, it didn't take alot of convincing to get them to try them, but it is practically a dessert, so really....who wouldn't eat them?! Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 11 months ago I don't know if I get depressed, so much as a little frustrated at what the holidays have become. I wish it was still about family, spending time together, & relaxing. Christmas time seems so very commercialized. All about buying presents. I often feel that we don't appreciate what we have and are looking towards what we want....not need, but want. Hopefully this season will be a little different. I am sticking to the plan of only giving gifts to the children. I will not be guilted into purchasing for all of the adults like we have been every year. It just isn't neccesary. What I am looking forward to? Being with my family, having a great meal, playing some games together and just relaxing...maybe even in my pj's. I absolutely love that my children will be home for a couple of weeks. No homework, no strict schedules, no packing lunches and no car pool. Heaven! Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 11 months ago I was one of two children, so growing up I always wanted to have just 2 children. My hubby is one of three, so he always thought 3 was the perfect number of children. After I had my first baby, I wasn't going to have anymore. Too many complications. I, of course, changed my mind and we tried for number 2. Hubby kept telling everyone that if baby #2 wasn't a boy that we were having 3. Ugh! I told him, "Not this wife! That must be your 2nd wife!" LOL! Low and behold, I changed my mind, but DH didn't want anymore children....he had his boy and girl. We were done. I always say God had other plans for us. We have 4 now and I can't imagine life without them. :0) Less is BEST!

They were alot of work to take care of and now that I am a Mom, I am content to just have one dog. My parents still have several animals....a dog, birds, and fish. I take care of them when they go out of town. My children would love having more pets, but for now, one dog is all we can manange. :0)

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 11 months ago I have children born in May, June, and August. My eldest son was born in November, so he had to wait the extra year before he could start Kindergarten. I wasn't so concerned about my eldest daughter....she was born in May and her preschool teacher was confident that she would do well with the transition. She did. My youngest son, being a preemie, I wasn't sure how he would fare going to Kindergarten. We opted to send him, with the option that if he was struggling through the year, that he would just repeat Kindergarten. He is a very bright 2nd grader now. My youngest daughter made the cutoff for Kindergarten by only one day. I wasn't ready to send her to Kindergarten, but her preschool teacher said she was ready. She was right! She might be young, but she is really smart...just turned 5 and reading already! The interaction at school was very good for all of my children. Although I missed them all once I sent them to school, I am confident that we made the right decision. Best wishes at whatever you decide! Less is BEST!
