I have a calender that sits on my counter, and assuming that everything is written down like it is supposed to be, I have a general idea of what is going on. Each child has a folder that has their paperwork in it. Of course, I have to actually put the papers in the right folder. Made the mistake of leaving a few papers on the counter last week, and accidentally put my daughter's homework with my son's work. She has been asking me for her homework for 4 days and I kept telling her I already sent it in. Whoops! I guess 5 year olds can be right! Anyway, most other things around here have their own place. I tend to like things "cleaned" up. It gives the impression of organized. Laundry has a system, drinking cups have a system, shoes have a system...the lists goes on. Luckily the family is very cooperative. I have trained them well! :0) Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago We have one area for the majority of the toys. Despite the fact the I have 4 children, I really don't have that many things. Each child has a few things that are their own personal toys, the rest are shared and that includes the responsibilty of keeping the toy closet cleaned up. Everyone has got the system down pretty good now, so there is no need for drastic measures anymore. At one time, I had to issue the warning that if the toys were not put away, they would be taken away. Just one time of having their things taken away and my point was made. I had a fairly large donation that time. Somebody was happy! And it wasn't my kids. My drastic measure won't work for everyone, but my children are more respectful of their things now, they are also very generous when it comes to donating to the less fortunate. :0) Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago I would call your doctor. I agree that it is better to be safe than sorry. We took our son to an Ear/Nose/Throat doctor who tested him and determined that he had some hearing loss. It was well worth the extra time and money to learn what the problem was. He had just passed the hearing test at school, which wasn't as detailed as the private test. The specialist used the first test as a baseline. Our next test is next month to see if his hearing loss is the same or if he has more deficits. Funny thing (or not so funny), he just passed his hearing test at school again last week. Certainly can't hurt to check it out further. Best wishes. :0)

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago Well, my Mom always told me I should be an actress since I could turn on and off the waterworks (tears) at the drop of a pin. LOL! At any rate, I really always wanted to be a Mom and that is what I am. My eldest daughter has wanted to be a Vet since she was 2 years old. She LOVES all animals. She continues to take HS courses which will help her achieve her goals. My eldest son wants to help raise money for cancer patients. He changes his mind often, sometimes he wants to be a brain surgeon or a firefighter....depends on the day. My two youngest children haven't really said much about it. My youngest son is worried about getting older, because he says then he can't live in our house anymore, has to get married, have kids, and then he is going to die. Ugh. Difficult conversation to have with a 7 year old. We have since stopped discussing what he wants to be when he grows up. He is my sensitive little guy. :0) I guess when my youngest graduates from kindergarten, they will have to say what it is they want to be when they grow up....they do that every year for the kids that are graduating...it is soooo cute to hear their responses. I am interested to hear what my baby wants to be when she grows up....maybe a model...she has the cutest runway walk, or a vet like her sister, or maybe just a mom... like me. Whatever they decide, I shall support them 100%! :0) Less is BEST!

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago I really didn't think that I had any Momstumes. I have sat down and typed many responses, but none of them really seemed to fit. When I get up and get myself ready in the mornings, that is just me. If I am wearing a skirt and heels, decide then to mow my lawn or wash windows, you will see me outside pushing the mower in a skirt and heels. I don't have a Jena costume, but my hubby would probably love it...I best look into that. And if I am out in public, my kids start misbehaving I am going to correct them. They are my children, I am the one raising them. Truly everyones opinion matters, but until you are in my shoes, keep your thoughts about how I raise my children to yourself. Then...last night...my eldest daughter had her Swim and Dive Banquet. The other children and myself haven't ever been able to attend, but this year I really wanted them to see their sister get her awards. My hubby couldn't attend since he had to work. After being there for a couple of hours, it dawned on me....I was wearing a momstume...the "if you misbehave you are so grounded" ( with a smile on my face of course!). LOL! I guess it doesn't matter what clothes you are wearing...my momstumes just change with the moment, whether or not I change my actual clothes...

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago I would agree that every pregnancy is different. My first baby was only 3 days late. I was induced when my labor was not consistent and it had been over 24 hours with little progress. My second baby was 4 days late. He was also induced after my water broke. This pregnancy ended up being my first c-section. My 3rd baby was 6 weeks early due to an infection and despite being induced, an emergency c-section was performed. Last but not least, after my unpredictable track record with difficult labor, delivery, and c-section complications, my doctor induced me 2 weeks before my actual due date with my last baby. My doctor was very open about my options and gave me all the necessary information to help me select the date to schedule my c-section. Maybe you and your doctor can come up with a date that will make you both happy. It certainly is worth asking. Best wishes. :0) Less is BEST!
