RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago My eldest two children started out with bottles and then we transitioned into sippy cups. I didn't let them take them to bed, but they did get a drink (whistle wetter) right before bed, typically water...milk was for meals). My youngest two children were both breastfed. One had only bottles occasionally w/breastmilk...the youngest never had a bottle at all. They were both nursed until a year and then just continued with the cup. Two of my children are lactose intolerant and they only drink water. They were never fans of juice either. The other two have milk at meals and everyone has water in regular cups, which are left in cup alley as we call it...counter by fridge, for easy access whenever they are thristy. I don't buy special cups anymore as my kiddos are now to old, but we have water bottles on hand all the time for them to take to school and when we go places in the car. Funny...my kids never liked flavored milk. It has to be plain old white milk or they won't drink it. Kids are all different! :0) Less is BEST!

Our fridge is a gallery that has rotating shows of Addie's current artwork. She's pretty happy about and always gets excited when we put new stuff up. I highly recommend putting kids artwork up. Even at her young age, you can tell she feels a sense of accomplishment. I used to put all the kids artwork on the fridge too! Now, we have a storage room under our stairs that has been turned into a toy room. It is very small, but it fits the kids few toys and I put up hooks on the wall for their back packs. The walls are covered in artwork. Everyone of the kids has some special artwork that we have saved and put up. It is really cute and they are so proud of their wall paper! LOL! :0) Less is BEST!

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago I loved this story...I believe that I read it in your blog Jan...My In-laws live out of the country which means we don't see them very often. They do visit several times a year, but when they visit they stay in town with some of their friends and we only usually see them once, maybe twice. They always try and babysit for us for an afternoon if they can so my hubby and I can get out for a couple of hours. I think they are in a hurry to get rid of us so that they can have extra fun with my kids! Really who can blame them...hubby and I aren't nearly as fun as Nana and Opa! LOL! Takes some time to get the house and kids back in order, so I guess it's a good thing they only come over every now and then. They are both good people...I am lucky to be able to call them family. :0) Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago I always wanted to have 2. I have a sister, so 2 seemed perfect to me. My hubby wanted 6...I knew that I wasn't going to have that many! After I had my first baby I didn't want anymore. It was much harder than I ever thought being pregnant and between all of my complications I just didn't think I could go through it again. I, of course, forgot all of that and went on to have number 2. We were finished then....one girl and one boy. A couple years later I really wanted another baby, hubby did not. Secretly, I always felt like a baby was missing, but I never said anything. We were blessed with not just one, but two more babies after that. Life has never been so wonderful! I can't even imagine life without every one of them. Totally complete!

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago Wow! I had no idea that there was mercury in the flu vaccines. Very informative article. Our pediatrician only recommends it for my two boys because they have more risk. Eldest DS, diagnosed brain cancer, had chemo and radiation, he has a comprimised immune system. Youngest DS has bad allergies and asthma requiring daily medications. So, when it is time to head to his office, I am certainly going to ask to see the bottle. Thanks! :0)

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago Everyone here has a different favorite color. Personally, I love black...it goes with everything...pink and green are close seconds...my favorite shoes are green with sequins... ooohhh I love those shoes! LOL! DH...loves Yellow...bigggg Steelers Fan! Eldest DD...green, this includes her eyeshadow. She does it tastefully. Eldest DS has loved red forever and youngest DS has been a huge blue fan since birth! Doesn't matter what it is...if it comes in blue that is his favorite! Youngest DD gravitates towards anything pink. Clothes, shoes, lip gloss, you name it...if it is pink...she loves it! Poor girl has a yellow room....and dad refuses to repaint it. Ugh! Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago I agree with the above posters. SJ makes a perfect point and that was also going to be my suggestions. Police work can be dangerous as stated above, but there are many avenues within that area that you may find just as rewarding and much less dangerous. Best wishes on reaching your dreams....whatever they may be! :0) Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago Boy...parenting is an adventure! I am going to keep preaching abstinence, but that doesn't mean they are going to listen. We can always encourage them to make the best choices, but we certainly can't make their choices for them. I am going to encourage both my girls and both of my boys to wait before they have sex. I just don't think teenagers are really ready for the commitment, the responsibility, or the consequences that come with it. Personally, I waited the longest amongst my friends, I didn't cave to peer pressure and wasn't going to be forced to do something that I wasn't ready for. I was nineteen my first time, it was a very serious relationship, and I felt that I was ready. Everyone is different. I am now married to that man, for almost 17 years. Woo hoo! Less is BEST! |
