Funny thing...I just cleaned out my medicine cabinet.  I clean it out frequently and since we hadn't been sick at all over the summer, I hadn't been in there to check out what medication had expired.

I actually found some that were a couple of years old, which leads me to believe that they got lost in the shuffle somehow.  Hubby and I used to have a doctor that wouldn't prescirbe any medication without seeing you in person and even then he would insist on running tests.  It was horrible.  Besides that, his office was just over a 45 minute drive from our home which made it next to impossible to get there.  Back then, if we had been given meds we would hold on to them just in case.  Turns out that the doc we had was a geriatric internalist (specialized in treating internal issues for the elderly) that would explain why he didn't know what to do when I found out I was pregnant with my first child. Only took us about 15 years to get a better doc.  Now, I take what is prescribed and throw out what is not used.  I also didn't realize that ointments, gauze, and sunblock expire....interesting find....

My neighbor let us borrow a video that she had purchased about stranger safety.  It was a really good video that my children enjoyed and had John Walsh on it as well.  I had only one problem with this video...it suggested that if your child gets lost, you should have your child look for another mother...a woman with other children...I don't think that another mother necessarily means safety.

To start off with, I am not...

Personally...it was worse.  I had a plan...no meds...that flew out the window after the first 24 hours worth of labor and the 2nd trip to the hospital.  When I finally received my epidural...heaven...36 hours of labor later....a beautiful baby girl was born. Yeah!

I had a better plan for baby #2...epidural ordered for my arrival at the hospital...great plan...cord was around his neck, so after 8 hours of labor I had a c-section.  Still...healthy baby boy. Yeah again!

Ok...baby #3...6 weeks early my water breaks...doc thinks I can delivery vaginally...I can do it...tons of women do it...I am induced and in labor for hours....baby is in distress....no time for an epidural...I am put to sleep just barely before my abdomen is cut open and my baby is taken out...this was really scary by the way.  However...healthy baby boy. Woo Hoo!

So, I have a better plan for baby #4... a planned c-section!  It was absolute heaven!  I should have done it this way the other times...maybe I should did it the next time...oh wait...we are done having babies!  At least I finally got it right!  Healthy baby girl! Woo Hoo, again!

So here is my 2 cents...it took you 9 months to gain that wait...your baby is only 4 months old...you still have about 5 months left until your body is more or less recovered...although I have heard it takes a year...so what do I know?!  Anyway, I had 3 c-sections and it does take a little longer on the tummy...it does go down, but the incision does need to heal and that takes time.  Drink plenty of water, make sure you get rest (hard with 3 babies, I know) and eat as healthy as you can.

Totally normal do be discouraged.  Just remember...you aren't your weight...you are just you....and you have 3 beautiful babies.  The weight...a temporary set back...the babies are a lifetime of happiness.

I just got on to look around a bit...I bet it would be nice to find old friends.  I did see someone there that had over 18,000 friends.  Ummm, that seems like an awful lot to me...I don't think I even know that many people! LOL! :0)

We don't picnic too often, we did it more when we had a boat, then I used to bring fried chicken, homemade brownies, fresh fruit, chips, and raw veggies.  It was something that we looked forward to and enjoyed eating finger foods.

My family is not big on cold salads (macaroni or potato) so I don't ever make those.  I could see bringing cheese cubes, crackers, and of course if there is going to be a fire of some sort...smores are a must!
