Somewhere quiet & scenic...where there is no television, radio, or telephones.

We usually do the tepid bath, along with tylenol and motrin.  Make sure to keep your little guy hydrated as having a fever can dehydrate him.  I wouldn't let the fever go to long without calling the doctor.

Best wishes.  I hope he feels better soon.Smile

I didn't actually have this problem, but I can only imagine that it must be frustrating.  Is there any way for you to start by cutting back on nursing at nap time?  Then slowly start weaning at bed time...

Maybe he can sleep with a stuffed animal of some sort that is strictly for bedtime.  In other words, he doesn't get to hold it until he is in bed.  Maybe that will comfort him.

Wish I had some actual helpful advice.  Best Wishes and Congratulations on your pregnancy.Smile

Is it for pain?

If so, we used the Baby Orajel.  Hubby needed to go to the dentist because of a toothache, and since we had a teething baby, we just put that on his gums until he could get into see the dentist.

Doesn't work great, but that in combination with motrin might help the discomfort.

Hope Sammi feels better soon.Smile

If you are really concerned, I would talk to your doctor.  My youngest son was at the doctor for a sick visit, and my doctor made mention of the fact that she did not understand anything that he was saying.  I of course, was completely surprised as I knew exactly what he was talking about.

She had me call our home school, and they referred me for some speech testing on my son.  As it turned out, he was behind on his speech, and the City paid for his preschool.  He ended up going 4 times per week for 2 1/2 hours per day and received Speech Therapy while he was there.  In no time, he had caught up and he started Kindergarten right on track.

I also had concerns about my youngest daughter, but after testing (which they only do when they are close to 3), it was decided that even though she was a little hard to understand, she was very intelligent, so she didn't qualify for services.  That was both good and bad.  Good because as a parent we always think our kids are smart, but it really makes you feel good when a professional tells you how smart they are, and bad because we had to pay for preschool.Laughing

All things considered, my mind was put at ease after seeing both my doctor and having the testing preformed.  Ammon might still be just a little young to qualify for testing, but you could always check with your local school district.

Best Wishes.Smile

I never really got into the whole Harry Potter thing.  I did see the first 2 movies on DVD, but I haven't ever read the books.  My Mom is a big fan, and I expect that her book will arrive anytime now.

I had read a few of the spoilers about the end of the book, but I am unsure if they are actually true or not.  Guess I will find out soon enough...

I enjoy spur of the moment road trips.  Packing snacks and beverages is a must along with a change of clothing for everyone.  I agree it can get very expensive to purchase items once you reach your destination.

However, the most fun is just having the family time together, and sometimes unplanned trips are the best ones with no expectations everyone can fully enjoy themselves.

It does make me wonder about other sports as well.  It is a shame for the players, who work hard at what they do and for the fans, who deserve to see the sport played not fixed.

I think all sports are mostly about money.  It isn't just about the game anymore.

It is hard if hubby isn't being supportive.  Kids are really smart when it comes to stuff like that.  At one time, when our older children were younger, they used to come into our room.  They stopped waking us up, and just starting sliding into our bed undetected.  Our bed is a California King, so it is really big and totally possible to get in the bed without waking us up.   It took a couple weeks, but we did eventually get them to understand that they could not sleep in our bed.  We started with the talk, then if they did come in, they had to lay on the floor...they didn't really like that, so they started staying in their own rooms.  We also got night lights, which we didn't have at the time.

I haven't had this problem with the other two younger kids.

Best Wishes on getting a good night sleep, without overnight company!Wink

I just thought of something....

What about trying a reward chart for staying in his bed all week?

For each night that he doesn't come into your room, he gets a sticker on the chart, or a marble in a jar, or something to acknowledge a job well done.  Then you and hubby can decide what his reward will be...a special treat, trip to the toy store, whatever you want to do to encourage him to be a big boy and stay in his room.

 Just a thought...
