RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago This thread has gotten me thinking that I should start my own business. I am not sure how to go about doing that, so I might need to do some research. This fall, all of my children are going to be in school all day. I am sad and excited all at the same time. Sad because my baby will be in all day kindergarten, and excited because for the first time in 15 years, I will not have a child at home with my for several hours during the day. I will be entering a new chapter in my life. This could be a good thing! It makes me wonder if the few talents that I could be put to good use. I live close to Ventana Lakes and Sun City. Both are established communities for the mature adult. I could see a need for a personal driver/shopper/organizer. I might need to look into this further. Thanks for getting me thinking! I don't typically take the children out of school. It really just depends on whom has passed away. For their great-grandparents, we always took them. But for a friend of the family, either me or hubby stay at home and take care of the usual home/kid duties. It is usually me staying home, as I don't have much family here and my hubby's entire family lives here and there are a ton of them! I will add, that on the few occasions that we took our children, the younger ones didn't really understand what was going on, and it gave closure to the older children. Everyone was so happy to see my children and they did bring a Ray of Sunshine (as Nanie used to say) to a very sad day. It is a personal choice. Best wishes. Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago Have either one of you considered counseling? Together as well as individual. It might help. Marriage is alot of work. There is nothing wrong with being in MOM Mode. You are a Mother now, and your son's needs may sometimes come first. I believe that as a Mom, we do get focused on our duties and sometimes forget the needs of our spouses. I am guilty of that as well. Sometimes at the end of the day, I am completely spent and just want to go to bed. Maybe you need to have some one on one time with your hubby...like a Date Night every week or every other week. If getting a sitter for your son is out of the question, then after he goes to bed, plan something to do together, a movie, play cards, or whatever (use your imagination)...even just talking (and not about your son). Communication is often hard, but is required for a healthy and happy relationship. Best Wishes. Less is BEST!

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago Every teachers requests are different. I am going to wait until school starts and each one of the children brings home a list of required supplies that are needed. I can't afford to buy items now and then find out the children are not allowed to use them. Hopefully, I will still be able to find some really great deals after school starts. I can hardly believe that summer is nearing it's end already. My eldest daughter has to start swim on August 6th. Time Flies! Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago Personally, I would keep her on a fairly bland diet (BRAT diet) and just slowly add back in regular solid foods. Her system might just need some extra time on the basics. Don't worry to much. As long as she is keeping hydrated she should be just fine. That is so important. Best Wishes. Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago I rarely travel. Most recently I took a bus with my eldest son on a field trip (the really big kind with TVs and a bathroom). We had alot of fun! Typically the farthest I travel is from the computer to my kitchen for nourishment. I rely on my good old legs and feet for that! Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago You are welcome.
Kids can really do quite well on just basic food. It does seem like she is keeping hydrated, which is what really is important. My hubby lived on PB&J and Macaroni & Cheese for about 15 years (according to his mother)LOL! It seems like you are doing everything you can for her. Hopefully she will feel better soon.

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago I didn't even remember what the date was until my hubby reminded me. Since summer started I am glad that I can remember what day of the week it is (most of the time anyway LOL!). Today was just as good a day as yesterday, and as great as I plan on tomorrow being. Sorry you had such a hard day. Hope tomorrow is better for you. Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago Pretty good so far. We do have a couple of homes that are empty. One family moved out, and they just started taking care of their pool again. They are going to have renter within the next few weeks. The other home has been empty since last year when our neighbor unexpectedly died. Some of the neighbors tried taking care of the pool, but with no electricity at the home, the pool pump never worked. It was like a swamp back there. The City came and pumped out some of the water, and the house is now in forclosure. I hope it gets taken care of soon.

RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago My parents don't live with us, but we did move in with them for just over 4 months while we were waiting to have a home built. I would have stayed forever! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my house, it was just so nice to have my parents around. They are wonderful people and so loving and caring towards my children. During that time, my children became really close to both of their grandparents and formed wonderful bonds. It was by far the best experience we have had while waiting for a new home. I, of course, NEVER want to move again, but my parents are welcome to come and live with us anyday. Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago The Diamondbacks are our family's team! We have been to a few games, met several players, been inside the locker room (just the boys), sat in the dug out, and my eldest son helped place second base on the field with Orlando Hudson when this years season began. It was INCREDIBLE!Less is BEST!
RMOMROXJoined: 11/08/06 Posts: 1285 | Posted: 1 years ago We got a fair amount of rain last night, and also on Monday morning. The crack of the thunder and lighting was so loud I actually expected my children to wake up scared. Luckily they didn't. The pavement was so slippery from all of the oil build up that we had to walk on the sidewalk. The back of my legs and shoes were just covered in dirt and oil. YUCK! Less is BEST! |
