This is a great article!  I love that the siblings were supportive of each other and not in constant competition.  Working together helped to make their reward that much sweeter!Smile

There is nothing better than sharing....

I have heard the marble jar idea several times.  My youngest son's teacher did something like this with her class.  As a class, they worked together to earn the marbles and then there was a reward when the jar was filled.  If they misbehaved, marbles would be removed.  The class had to work together to fill the jar.

I wonder if I tried the marble technique at my home for say...doing chores without having to be reminded, not arguing with siblings, and using listening ears at all times.  Each child would have the potential to earn several marbles per day to help fill the jar and then they would all be working together for a special outing or treat that they can all share.

Great idea.  I love it!Smile

Both my hubby and myself always said that we would be happy with either sex for our baby.  I think that secretly I really wanted a girl first because I was one of two girls.  When my first baby was born I was so excited that we had a girl , and so was my hubby.

When I got pregnant the second time, hubby was really hoping for a boy.  He was telling everyone if the baby wasn't a boy, we would be trying for another baby. WHAT?!  I hadn't even had #2 and he already had me on my way to pregnancy #3.Surprised Of course, I made sure to let him and everyone else know that he was referring to his second wife!  Because I was certainly not having anymore babies!Laughing  He got his boy!  And let me tell you, as I was on the operating table, and the doctor said "It's a boy!", I am not sure if my tears were just excitement, or relief that since I had "the boy", there wasn't going to be a pregnancy #3.  The first thing I said was "I'm done!".  I was so happy.Smile

Needless to say, as any woman, I was bound to change my mind and want more children.  Hubby said "No Way!".  God had other plans...

Looking forward to their review.Smile

My daughter said that the movie was "awesome"!  She wants to go back and see it again!  Mind you, she is only 15 years old, and she LOVES alot of movies that I think are the "worst" movies ever made.Laughing

Let's see what Grumpy and KK thought of this film....

Wishing you well. Smile

I don't have a disability, but my eldest son does.  It has changed how we parent a great deal.

I saw that you started a Group and that was a great idea!  Hopefully some of the other members here will be able to lend some support and advice.

 Happy Fourth of July!Smile

I'll start by saying we have a tradition over here.  Every year, we wear matching shirts from Old Navy for the Fourth of July.  This all started in 2000 when I was pregnant with baby #3.  I wasn't due until July 23rd, but I decided it didn't matter, I was going to get a shirt for my baby and we could take photos after the birth, as a family, wearing our shirts.

Corny, I know, but darn those kids look so cute wearing matching outfits!SmileLow and behold, baby was born 6 weeks early!  He looks absolutely adorable wearing that shirt with his siblings (kind of looked like a dress on him since he was just over 4 lbs!Laughing) and we took tons of photos.

I wasn't able to go to see the Fireworks, because it was too hot out for a newborn, but after we had a BBQ with our neighbors, my hubby took all the children with all of our neighbors and friends and I heard the stories when they got home.  Everyone took tons of pictures, and I have some beautiful pages in my scrapbook from that Fourth of July!

Great question!  It brought back such wonderfully happy memories of such a difficult time in our family's life.  I am going to go and get out that scrapbook!  Thank you!Smile
