I have a teenage girl, and I don't find her that difficult at all.  She just turned 15 a couple of days ago.  We have tried to instill good values in her, and do occasionally need to remind her to be respectful.  She has made good choices so far, maybe not always the choices we would have made, but she is her own person. She can be emotional, but I always talk to her and let her know that she can talk to me about anything and that I will not be judgemental, and I will always listen.  Raising children is a hard job.  Since my 15 year old is my oldest, I am learning myself as I go.  My eldest son will be 13 in November, so I will also have a teenage boy soon.  He is difficult occasionally for his own reasons (MMR) and not because he is nearing becoming a teenager, so I won't know how hard it is to raise a teenage boy for about 6 more years when my youngest son reaches that stage.  I am guessing that each gender would be difficult for their own reasons.

I think that if we have a productive, healthy, and loving household in which to raise our children, they will be better individuals.  At least I certainly hope so.

I still have only 4...3 pregnancy tests and a visit to the Doctor to confirm that I am not pregnant.  Not quite sure if I am relieved or disappointed.  Probably more relieved, things are starting to get a little easier and I am looking forward to the summer. Pregnancy was never kind to me or my body.  Besides, I did have my tubes tied after the last c-section, so I pretty much figured that I was done. I will live vicariously through my neighbors' new babies.  They are abundant on our street.  I just babysat one today.  I LOVED it!

My eldest son has had 3 eye surgeries to correct some damage done to his eye muscles following a craniotomy for a cancerous brain tumor.  Our surgeon explained his surgery to us each time in great detail, as well as what to expect for recovery time.  I am not familiar with the condition that your child has, but I would highly suggest writing a list of the questions that you have prior to the surgery being performed if you don't have a pre-surgery appointment.  The Doctor always came in beforehand to ask us if we had any additional questions.

 Best Wishes.

I spend 99.9% of my time with my children.  My Hubby spends very little time with our children since he is working an odd shift right now.  I have found that DH has very little patience.  He is usually very tired when he gets home, so I try and handle as much as I can.  We try and have a very positive discipline style over here.  I use positive words to correct poor behavior, and do my very best to not raise my voice.  Both DH and myself always support each other on whatever decisions were made, even if we disagree with each other.  We NEVER disagree in front of the children.  If I have a problem or vice versa, we talk to each other in private to discuss whatever discipline/punishment was given. We don't typically have to punish our children, as they seem pretty well behaved by my standards.  The Time-Out Stair works wonders over here.

DH and I also have a policy that we don't go back on our word.  What we say sticks like glue.  No changing our minds...not even if the children beg...which they don't do, because we don't ever change our mind.  I like it and it works well for us.

Communication is a big part of why I think our style works well.  DH and I have discussed what we both would like in regards to disciplining our children, and we stay consistent with each child.

My Hubby and I were dating for 4 months when he proposed.  We were married 4 months later.  We always knew that we wanted to have children.  Our first child was born a year and a half after we were married.

I have heard that this movie is GREAT!  My parents went and saw it yesterday.  DH really wants to see it, but it is not an appropriate movie for our younger children.  My oldest daughter is going to see it with friends today. Her girlfriends came over last night to watch the first 2 movies, because of when the movies were originally made, we had never let our eldest daughter watch either one.  She is fifteen now, so we decided she can watch them.

This was very good information.  I myself, do NOT plan on driving anywhere.  DH is home sleeping now as he had to work all night.  We will hopefully have a very quiet and relaxing day today.  It seems beautiful outside right now, and maybe we will all go swimming later.  I hope everyone has an extremely safe day!

DH just got home from working all night, so he is sleeping.  My children are watching a movie right now, and I plan on hitting the exercise equiptment for about an hour.  We should be having a nice relaxing afternoon, and maybe a quick dip in the pool will be nice.  All the children would certainly LOVE that and the day is beautiful.  I am so thankful for all my blessings today and everyday....

Eldest DD LOVED this movie!  Her girlfriend's Mom on the other hand, thought it was extremely long, boring, and didn't have enough of Johnny Depp!  DH and I will have to make our own review when we get the opportunity to see it. However, at 168 minutes, I am wondering if I should wait for the DVD so that I have the option to pause the movie and go to use the little girl's room! LOL!Laughing
