KristynJoined: 8/22/06 Posts: 236 | Posted: 2 yearss ago My husband and I have a great time playing "Scene It". Whenever our family or friends come over, they are dying to play it. It is really fun if you are into movies, but if you are not, then it could be quite challenging and I would not suggest it. Otherwise, it's really great. It can even encourage you to go rent a couple movies you haven't seen and have a fun movie night one evening.
KristynJoined: 8/22/06 Posts: 236 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I feel that all babys are differently shaped and thus, each diaper fits in its own way. My suggestion to all new parents is to get out to the store and simply buy a small package of each type of diaper that they supply (Don't worry! You WILL go through them all). Try each brand for a day, that way, you can get the full effect of the diaper's versatility. Does it fit right? Does it leak? How much does it absorb? Does it allow for my baby to manuever properly? Remember that expensive does NOT equal better.
I personally have found the Pamper's Swaddlers/Cruisers to be the best choice for my little one. I just hope that everyone out there finds the right diaper for their little ones too.
KristynJoined: 8/22/06 Posts: 236 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I am a full-time mom and I want to contribute to my family's income since my husband is currently in school, but due to our current situation I am unable to leave my child alone or in daycare. So I am wondering if anyone knows of any stay-at-home jobs? I cannot afford to pay for any specialized schooling or materials nor do I have the time for it. I would just like to start right away. If anyone can help me out, please let me know. Thank you!
KristynJoined: 8/22/06 Posts: 236 | Posted: 2 yearss ago The movies are pretty much late 80's to the year 2000. It's combines board games with DVD technology. It contains all sorts of movie categories, at least a good choice from the contemporary movies. Plus you can choose between a short or long game.
KristynJoined: 8/22/06 Posts: 236 | Posted: 2 yearss ago That is really a good idea! Unfortunately, I discussed the idea with my husband and he said no. ![]()
KristynJoined: 8/22/06 Posts: 236 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Yeah! I love to find out! If you could, that would be great! Thank you!

KristynJoined: 8/22/06 Posts: 236 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I had a couple of weird ones. I craved Cajun-spiced ice cream. Also, whenever I was in the shower, I had a craving to eat my liquid body soap because it smelled so good! ![]()

KristynJoined: 8/22/06 Posts: 236 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Why does medicine taste just as bad now as it did back when we were children? I came across this question recently, while trying to force myself to choke down a mere teaspoon of prescribed cough syrup. The label may say "Cherry" or "Grape", but all I see is, "This stuff tastes just as nasty as when you were a child."
I just don't understand this. Am I the sole person who can barely tolerate the horrendous taste? Does the Mary Poppins mantra of "A spoonful of sugar" really help the medicine go down? Why haven't medicinal companies figured out a way of TRULY improving the flavor? I just gotta know.......
KristynJoined: 8/22/06 Posts: 236 | Posted: 2 yearss ago For drama, I would defiently suggest Memoirs of a Geisha (Arthur Golden) or The Joy Luck Club (Amy Tan). I have read both several times and have found them very enjoyable. Amy Tan is a very good author when it comes to drama I believe.
KristynJoined: 8/22/06 Posts: 236 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I understand exactly what you guys mean. It is very intimidating to raise your children in today's world. Watching the news has become quite a depressing affair. It is almost better to not watch the news sometimes.
I agree with the afore-mentioned statement though that all we can do is to raise our own children properly. In doing this, the world has the potential to become a better place.

KristynJoined: 8/22/06 Posts: 236 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I am actually the wife of a retired Marine Corps veteran. I know that being the wife of a military man is a tough job. Heck, it's the toughest job in the Corps! But it is also the most important. ;)
KristynJoined: 8/22/06 Posts: 236 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I would personally say no without a doubt. There is absolutely no reason an 11 year old needs a cell phone. If it is as you say, then she should be content with talking to her friends on the house phone PLUS your cell phone. I believe your daughter is strong enough to go a period of time without having to yak at her friends. Though I do see the advantage of her having a cell to contact you, but I feel that this still does not justify her getting one.
I say to trust your gut though. Don't give her one because of peer pressure or to be "cool". Give it to her when she would truly have the need. Not just for pleasure. |
