JanJoined: 10/25/06 Posts: 937 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Wow, the hatred in this world can be absolutely ridiculous. It's amazing that two people who have most likely experienced intolerance of their relationship can pass this on in another form. You are doing the right thing though. Keep instilling the belief that we are all equal. You need to let him know the importance of that and that his crush is ok. Your problem will be that his main influences(moms) will contradict this. You should tell him upfront that he may not be able to spend any time with this girl because of that. Let him know he will have to abide by their rules but that he does not have to hold onto their beliefs. He will be able to live his life as he wants to soon enough. .
JanJoined: 10/25/06 Posts: 937 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Just got back from voting. I have to say I was a little sad that there weren't many people there. That's one line I wouldn't have minded waiting a little longer in..
JanJoined: 10/25/06 Posts: 937 | Posted: 2 yearss ago We don't have any block parties. We only know a few of our neighbors. It makes me a little sad. Part of the problem is that AZ seems to be such a transition area. People move in and out so quickly that you don't get a chance to make close friends. Maybe that happens everywhere now, but I miss the days when I was growing up where you knew everyone around you and could count on them for anything. .

Alltime favorite: Hong Kong Phooey!! I only got to watch it every other week when I was growing up. It was on at the same time as Speed Racer which was my brother's favorite so we had to switch. Way before the time of tivo or even VCRs. .
JanJoined: 10/25/06 Posts: 937 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I'm starting to actually think about the holidays. I usually wait until the last minute, but it seems with a baby this year there is so much more to do. I am looking for suggestions on how to keep the little one away from the tree. Our house is pretty small, so we don't have a room we can put it in and block off. If anybody has any tips, please share. .
JanJoined: 10/25/06 Posts: 937 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I WAY overpacked. Don't bring any nightgowns. They will just get ruined. Use the hospital ones. They're comfortable and you can put an extra one on backwards to walk around. Take socks and slippers. You may want to walk around. They were also the only thing I could fit my feet into after I had my baby. Take some sour candy to keep your mouth from getting really dry since they won't give you anything to drink. Take your own small bottles of shampoo and lotion. The hospital ones are pretty gross. Take your own pillows. They are a great comfort and you'll need all you can get. Don't pack an extra outfit to go home in. You'll still need maternity clothes for a few weeks. I had an extra outfit but just wore what I went to the hospital in. Lip balm is a must. Pack some snacks and a change of clothes for husband/boyfriend. Camera, film, phone, list o' people to call afterwards, nursing bra if you are going to do so. For the baby, you just need an outfit to go home in. You may also need to put it on when they take the picture to put on the website. I also put one on the baby and sent ot home for the dog and cats to sniff before we got home. You may need extra wipes. The hospital I delivered at only gave you one small pack and wouldn't give you more. Not a problem unless you end up with a c-section and longer hospital stay. Don't forget the car seat. Most importantly, don't stress about it, if you forget it, someone will be happy to get it for you. . |
