KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 2 yearss ago My friend's mother used Nutri-System and it worked wonders - she looks fantastic. Besides the diet, all she did was walk. She was very strict with it. My parents just started it, and I saw some results while they were here, however they did not stick to it, and gained all back since they did not eat there meals / portions.

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I am addicted to audio books. I now have 5th Degree by James Patterson in the CD Changer now. I drive 25-40 minutes a day to work both ways, and it passes the time great. I am a channel flipper if it is the radio, unless kids are in car and then it is Radio Disney. If they radio is even on with them because most of the time I listen to a movie that they get to enjoy watching. Denise | |

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Proof again that you should have to take a test and get a license before you can become a parent. So many kids are with people athat are not able to deal with day to day life for themselves, let alone a small, innocent child.

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 2 yearss ago If daddy has anything to say - the girls will be 30, and our son will be when he wants. Now mommy on the other hand says - 16-17 yrs of age sounds appropriate, as long as I know the girl/boy friend and all is kosher. I was from a small midwest town, I dated in jr high, however - I was never that girl either. There were several girls in my school(s) that were. My husband's jr high / high school sweetheart was 13 yrs old when she became "a woman", I use that term loosely, and I think that is a disgrace. This momma will be involved in keeping her kids active also, to keep mind off the opposite sex.

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Here is another one found this on Channel 3 website. . . what is this world coming too??? Man Held in Decapitation of Daughter, 4 RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- A man suspected of decapitating his 4-year-old daughter and leaving the body for her mother to find in their suburban home was arrested in Washington, D.C., early Saturday, authorities said. Investigators have not found any history of domestic or mental health problems at the home, and still have no leads as to a possible motive in the killing, said Clayton police Lt. Jon Gerrell. Amber Violette told police Friday evening she had found her daughter, Katlin, with her head severed from her body, police said. An "edged weapon" believe to have been used in the killing was found in the house, though Gerrell declined to give more details. "This is devastating for the whole community as a whole, and it's the most horrific thing I've seen in 13 years of police work," said Sgt. S.P. Lapsley. "That a father could do this to his child, I just can't believe it."
John Patrick Violette's vehicle was found at Raleigh-Durham International Airport, and investigators learned he had taken a flight to Washington. Deputy U.S. marshals arrested the 37-year-old after police tracked his credit card to the hotel, Lapsley said. Police said Violette, 37, would be held in Washington pending an extradition on a murder charge expected to be filed in Clayton, about 15 miles southeast of Raleigh. The U.S. Marshals Service said an extradition hearing is expected to be held Tuesday. The mother is not a suspect in the investigation, and Lapsley said police don't expect to make any more arrests. Police said John Violette quit his job at a home improvement store on Thursday, the News & Observer of Raleigh reported. Lori McCreary, who lives across the street from the Violette home in Clayton, a suburb about 15 miles southeast of Raleigh, described the family as "very private, but normal." "They went to church every Sunday. They just seemed like a very happy, normal couple," McCreary said. "This is just so very, very shocking - and devastating."

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 2 yearss ago This may sound corny, but the only dreams I remember are when I have them about a friend from back home. Everytime I have these dreams, I call and something has happened - good or bad and it is something they want to talk about. Until I call, I will have reoccuring dreams. It makes me happy to know I am still connected in some way.

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I have already had the talk several times with my 9 yr old. Simple reason of my husband's brother is an addict and when my children were in IL 2 yrs ago, he was there at my in-laws (which I was furious about when I learned after the fact) that they would put my kids in a situation like that with him there. My kids went to IL to stay with my parents and my husband's. Well he got in trouble in TN - had to flee, so he ran to dad, on the ONE night in 2 weeks they stay there - they pick him up at the bus station. I was livid and let my in-laws have it. They were not concious enough to repsect my feelings, of knowing if I was there, my kids would not have been because he was there. Reason being, my kids do not need to see that stuff or what it does to you at the age of 7, 5, and 4. My 7 year old was the only one that caught on that something was wrong, and she has asked several times since then about drugs, the effects, etc. I am very honest with her about it. We talk and actually she has taught me some things from her classes at school with the officer there when he talks. Needless to say when my kids will not be staying at the inlaws anytime soon. KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 2 yearss ago My car right now is a Ford Windstar. Looking to get new one soon - thinking of going back to SUV - when I had 3 in car seats, to hard to climb into back seat to buckle older 2 in and out. Now all kids are olds enough can do that on their own - so here I come - although I want a Chrysler Pacifica - my husband wants the Expedition - I will let you know who wins.
