KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 10 months ago I do not remember getting allowance, however my mom and dad always made sure I had money if I went somewhere. I had chores, and if I did not do them, I heard about it. My kids get $1 a day with one day off of doing something if needed. If they do not complete all chores they do not get $1 for that day. I do not hand the $ over to my kids, I keep an acct for each one, if they want something they buy it themselves.

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 10 months ago There have been several time post kids that I have started the act of sex and did not feel like it. However by the end, my engine is going and I am so glad "I WENT THERE". No matter what anyone says we all have, even the men, although it does not take as long to reve a mans engine like a woman's, but in the end all of us want o reach the winner's circle and have that jug of milk. KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 10 months ago Mine are - 1) Loyal - I am the most loyal person you can meet, however burn me once and I am not going to stick around for the second time. Unlike Rach and her thinking ppl take her for a sucker, me I am not. I may still be there for someone, but will not be the same fool twice. 2) Hard Working - Will take anything on - the more the better. Right now on top of working 40 hrs a wk, getting ready for in laws to come to town, working on Booster Club Community Day for kids school, calendar for kids school, I have just now took on selling items for a class at kids school - UGH - maybe this one should be I AM CRAZY! hehe 3) Involved Parent - Will always be this - no matter what. My kids may be embarrassed to have mom some places, like school functions now for my 5th grader, but deal with it, I am your worst nightmare! 4) My parents - without them, I would not be the great mother I am and worship the ground they walk on! 5) My family - my husband and kids are what make me strive to be better 6) I can not resist this one - I AM DAMN CUTE! hehe Denise

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 10 months ago h2o steam mop - I got one for myself right before Christmas. Ordered from a late night infomercial - and I LOVE IT! I got a steam system also that is hand held to clean. I have went thru my entire kitchen 0 every nuck and cranny. The mop is awesome, it take a couple minutes to heat up, but it is wonderful, no mop water and simple enough the kids can use. Actually when my kids see me getting it out, they run and argue on to who gets to use it. The steam system, Amanda loves to help she did the grout and lower cupboards in my kitchen. Anything that is easy to use and is enviromental friendly - LOVE IT! Denise

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 10 months ago With all 3 of my kids - I gained about 22 lbs. All of them I have done nothing with - I know that sounds bad, but I figured I earned every pound. However, I did not put that much on. I must say though with my 1st I dropped everything and more at birth with her. I actually weighed less 2 weeks after having her then I did before we got pregnant. My second and third, I was not so lucky I did lose some, but not all- but I still feel I looked good about myself. I am starting Monday in the 21 day challenge to exercise - not so much to lose weight, but to tone what flab I have.

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 10 months ago Found this story - I THINK ROCK ON SISTER! Way to teach him a lesson - he broke the rules. Regardless of his or not. DES MOINES, Iowa — Jane Hambleton has dubbed herself the "meanest mom on the planet." After finding alcohol in her son's car, she decided to sell the car and share her 19-year-old's misdeed with everyone — by placing an ad in the local newspaper. The ad reads: "OLDS 1999 Intrigue. Totally uncool parents who obviously don't love teenage son, selling his car. Only driven for three weeks before snoopy mom who needs to get a life found booze under front seat. $3,700/offer. Call meanest mom on the planet." Hambleton has heard from people besides interested buyers since recently placing the ad in The Des Moines Register. The 48-year-old from Fort Dodge says she has fielded more than 70 telephone calls from emergency room technicians, nurses, school counselors and even a Georgia man who wanted to congratulate her. "The ad cost a fortune, but you know what? I'm telling people what happened here," Hambleton says. "I'm not just gonna put the car for resale when there's nothing wrong with it, except the driver made a dumb decision. "It's overwhelming the number of calls I've gotten from people saying 'Thank you, it's nice to see a responsible parent.' So far there are no calls from anyone saying, 'You're really strict. You're real overboard, lady."' The only critic is her son, who Hambleton says is "very, very unhappy" with the ad and claims the alcohol was left by a passenger. Hambleton believes her son but has decided mercy isn't the best policy in this case. She says she set two rules when she bought the car at Thanksgiving: No booze, and always keep it locked. The car has been sold, but Hambleton says she will continue the ad for another week — just for the feedback. Denise
KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 10 months ago I lived to close to school to ride the bus in grad eand jr high school, so I walked or rode bike. However in High School, was far enough away, but far to COOL to ride the bus - I hitched a ride with friends until I was 16 and then I drove. I drop my kids and 2 others off at school in the morning. However, it is close enough they could walk, but I am not comfortable with that on a daily basis becuase of the freaks out there. Denise
