My commute is generally 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.  I actually like it, I listen to books on audio to pass the time.  Being a busy mom I do not have time to read a book at night like I would like, and it would take away from MT time, so I listen to em.  Great release of time and I stay off my cell phone when I have a good one!

Light rail system is coming to Phnx, however, it is running N & S, not east like I need and it does not come this far north in the valley - maybe someday, as I would be all over it.

I have a perfect example.  When we were kids, well at those of us born in the early 70's and before - when you went to birthday parties, the ONLY person who walked out of that party with something other than cake crumbs and icing was the game winners.  There was no party bags for every kid that came to the party.  These party bags for 20-25 kids get EXPENSIVE, I told Hannah next year I am handing out gift cards and being done with it, would save the aggrevation.

I have taught my kids the spirit of competion and how to be a gracious winner and loser.  There is nothing wrong with coming in second, third, or last - as long as you try your best.  I see other kids in their class or that come over that are terrible losers / winners and it is sad that parents are not teaching the kids of today to be humble in everything they do, and life is not fair, some things you need to except.

Charles Barkley has said many of times "I am not a role model, a parent, teacher, police officer, or fireman are role models"  However, no matter how much I would like this statement to be true, it is not.

Not matter an sthelete, movie star, singer, or model our kids idolize them becuase of the "power" the receive.  They think it would be great to be them because of all the get so easily.  It is just sad that the press emphasizes Brit and Jamie Lynn instead of Nicole Kidman, Julia Roberts, and Reese Witherspoon, all who are beautiful successful women of Hollywood!

I am proud to say that on Hannah's first day of school this year she had to fill out a fact sheet, in the who is your idol question, her response, "MY MOM"  That brought tears to my eyes when I read it!
