KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 11 months ago Completely agree! I am all for not offending anyone - well most of the time, however where are our rights. I have been SEARCHING for cards to send out that actually say "MERRY CHRISTMAS" I have looked for 3 weeks now, and have yet to find any! I am not offended by other peoples holidays or how the celebrate - something was said this am on the news - cities no longer light Christmas trees - they light holiday trees, what would they say if the said we were lighting the holiday candles instead of saying lighting the menorah. Kind of brings it all into perspective. I am not trying to take anything away from anyone beliefs or religions, why are they taking away from mine? Denise

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 11 months ago So, my test driver starts tomorrow and I am so excited about it! Everyone here is excited - my hubby, my kids, and some of the neighborhood kids too! They have all begged for a ride - in between practices, school meetings, and work - I have promised to get them at least a spin to DQ. All us Anderson's can not wait, we have a mini weekend vacation planned and all are diputing what we are doing at one point or another! Stay tuned folks, will tell ya'll my story, how I kept a family entertained along the way! Denise
KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 11 months ago Living away from both sets of grandparents all my kids lives, I have had to rely on babysitters most of the time. As for daycare - been lucky, checked references and popped in and viewed operation throughout different times of days. Babysitters - been lucky in that aspect also. We never hired a babysitter until we moved here to AZ. All the times before, if our kids could not go, we would not go. Our first babysitters were twin sisters that would take turns babysitting for us when needed, so they both made money. Then they moved to AL, was heartsick - what would we do??? I was at a "Mommy Read" group at my kids school, and one of the NJHS students that was volunteering time there the kids loved. She ended up being our babysitter and has been part of our family since. KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 11 months ago I was the queen of sneaking out. Living in a 2 story 100 year old home, most stairs squeaked - I had the going from one side to the other mastered. I always went down to the basement and snuck out the cellar, had it down to a science. I had a midnight curfew, so would come home from the parties and then be back at 12:45-1a depending on if mom & dad were sleeping again. However, the ONLY time I ever got caught, a friend was spending the night. She did not want to go thru cellar, so we went out the window in our pantry. Well for some damn reason my mom cleaned the window in the pantry within a couple of weeks, she opened it up and there was but cheek marks on the window sill from all the dust. Well I had to sit there to prove it was bigger than my butt. Thank goodness she did not remember Jenny spending the night or I would not have had a snowballs chance in hell to get out of that one!
