KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 1 years ago Usually we go to the Peoria Sports Complex to see the fireworks. However, the kids will not be here this year, so I really do not know what we will be doing! HUM, now you got me wondering .. . .

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 1 years ago Think about it, ppl are tattooing corp logo's on there shaved heads and pregnant bellies - so why not let a corp name a school. I am on the PTA at my kids school, if they came in offering millions, even hundreds of thousands of dollars to fund things that would help better my kids education - my kids would be going to Preperation H Elementary. HEHE! Denise
KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 1 years ago Ok, first let me say that some of these may be graphic for some people, but check these ads and article that I found on MSNBC just now about meth. If it would help kids by scaring straight - then air them! Sorry if any of these offend anyone! METH TURNOFF The image of a teenage boy beating up his own mother so he can steal money from her purse will not quickly fade from memory. Nor will the scene in which a young woman has sex in exchange for drugs -- which her boyfriend collects -- while she says, in a voiceover: “I love my boyfriend. We’ve been together since like eighth grade. He’s my best friend. He takes care of me.” The Montana Meth Project isn’t aiming for subtle in the third wave of a TV, radio and print campaign designed to keep teens from even trying methamphetamines. After graphically showing kids what the addictive, destructive drug can do to their bodies, the campaign has turned its attention to how meth can lead you to abuse and exploit the people you care about. The ads, which are garnering interest from other states including Arizona, are not for the faint-hearted -- or weak-stomached. But Jeanne Cox, executive director of the Meth Project Foundation, said the project’s creators found the in-your-face approach was the only way to get the attention of kids who are used to violent video games, horror movies and graphic music videos. They say the ads also are getting results, having already helped spur a steep drop in teen meth use and meth-related crime in the state. Force yourself to sit through them, and it’s not hard to see why. The ads may offend some, but they’re much more likely to make you think twice about doing drugs than a shopworn slogan like “just say no.” See the ads here .... Denise
KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 1 years ago I received an email one morning upon arriving at work, in the subject line it said "my wife", so i figured he forwarded me a joke. I opened it and all it said was "I LOVE YOU" - I cried. My hubby not romantic at all and I have to say that was the most special thing that he has ever done for me. Can not really think of any other times seeings he is not that romantic, however must have been the nights my kids were conceived - hehe! Denise
KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 1 years ago Too soon I think, but who am i to judge. . . We lived in Tampa one year when Super Bowl was there. There was no hype from there until right before. I think that Glendale is doing a lot to get ppl excited, that way they will be able to get it back. With all the revenue it produces though, I really wish that it would be used for good things, instead of not knowing where in the world all that tax dollars goes too.

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 1 years ago What a disgrace to the conservatives that are good moral souls like Devi says. I am not a dem / rep person, I vote for the person. And her comments about John Edwards makes me feel like i would vote for him to spite her. What a witch! To me John Edwards is a stand up guy, I have not investigated him much, as I do not get into pre nom stuff - there is to many to follow now and i do not do that until the final 2 are down. But this is a disgrace, she opens her mouth and trash comes out and poisons too many ppl. Denise

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1374 | Posted: 1 years ago If I had to choose who will be the final 2 standing -- I would say Guilianni and Edwards. Guilianni did a HECK of a job after 9/11. I do not think the USA is ready for a woman or a black president. And that is to say I would not support one of them, I just think the majority will not vote for them. Denise
