KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1375 | Posted: 2 yearss ago First and foremost, you need to think about your kids, your husband, and yourself! Everyone else is an adult and should understand. If to help to be there for anyone, it should be your mother. However, I do not knwo that moving her in would help her or you. It would make her more dependant on you, and with her being depressed, may cause her to "never" leave. Take a deep breathe - a shot if needed - and just remember you are there for you, your kids & hubby! Denise
KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1375 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Tot dies after being bound with tape at day careWorker allegedly put tape on 2-year-old’s hands, mouth to silence himUpdated: 4:51 p.m. MT May 19, 2007 TULSA, Okla. - A day care worker was being held Saturday in the death of a 2-year-old boy who had his hands bound and his mouth covered with masking tape, police said. The boy, who had been on life support, died late Thursday, Officer Jason Willingham said. Vicki Leigh Chiles was being held without bail on a complaint of first-degree murder. She was the only worker at the facility at the time, looking after eight children ages 7 and younger, Willingham said. Chiles told police the boy would not be quiet for nap time, so she used tape to silence him, an arrest report states. Chiles told investigators she left the boy unattended for a few minutes and came back to find him lying on the floor unresponsive, the report states. She said she called for an ambulance and tried to perform CPR. The state agency that oversees child day care operators was investigating Chiles’ business, said Mary Leaver, an agency spokeswoman.
How do people like this get a job taking care of kids? I just do not understand there logic and thinking of doing this to a child, a baby, or anyone. And why was she the only one there with all those kids. That poor baby! Denise

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1375 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I am going with other, because it touches some of what the poll said, but other options also. 1) parental support - there is no guidance at home, so the kids go to school to learn, manners, character, and then education. If their child gets in trouble, it was someone else's fault and not their child's - how dare the school say it was their's. 2) low pay for teachers - we ask these wonderful people to teach our children, offer little support, and then can not believe when they bring home not perfect grades. 3) drugs - the more kids grow, the more drugs that are out there. 4) overcrowding - this will always be a problem - 30 kids in a class is TOO many. I could go on, but these are my views on some issues. I honestly believe this will never get any better until our governemtn really begins to care for our children and our elderly for that matter! When they offer more money to teachers - to get a better class - caring class - then maybe we will have a better support, also more money into the schools, so they can hire more teachers to reduce the class sizes. **EDIT** I DID FORGET TO MENTION THE FACT WITH PRAYER IN SCHOOL, TAKING GOD OUT OF A PLACE WHERE CHILDREN LEARN AND GROW, IS NOT A GOOD THING. IF MY CHILD GETS CAUGHT TALKING ABOUT GOD, OR PRAYING TO GOD BEFORE LUNCH, THEY CAN GET IN TROUBLE???? MAYBE IF THEY HAD A MORE CHRISTIANLY ENVIROMENT, THE WHOLE WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE AND FILL UP OUR CHURCHES MORE! Denise

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1375 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I totally agree, it is the enviroment they grow up in, and parental support. This gets back to what are schools lacking - a school should not teach a child how to brush teeth, hands/body. Parents need to consider that children are mean and cruel, without knowing it persay, and why would you want to open your child up to something that could be prevented. In our Christmas Angels every year, we get what the child asks for, and always include a new toothbrush, toothpaste - a fun flavor, girly soap or a manly smell - depending on the sex, and some other personal items depending on what we find. I feel sorry for these kids, and have taught mine to befriend them - we have even invited them over to stay or play and they always enjoy here, becuase we do fun stuff - and they always go home clean with a girly spa day, or a manly new scent. It is also amazing, how friends follow suit also, after my kids are nice to unhygenic kids, everyone else seems to go along.

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1375 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I take offense to this, as I too am an chat alot, and when we are in there, we always welcome the new people there! If people choose not to get in the chat, I can not help that. There has been many times that I have popped in and not welcomed, I leave becuase I consider that private and not included. I have never taken offense to it. I do not mean to offend anyone, but this is childish to have post this, a chat is for everyone to drop in and tell about the day. It is nice to be in the public chat, that way other people can drop in. If you are in a private chat, they can't just stop in. I think all of us are adult about it and hope this can be worked out, because I honestly think all of us in this post has had some great chats in the past. It is rare that the log gets filled up, and half the time when a group chat is scheduled, you can not read through it all anyway. If I have stepped on any toes, I apologize and you can PM me to talk about it. But ultimately we are all here for the same thing! Denise |
