KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1375 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I was in the same boat as you Shannonkay. My daughter was begging us for one. I was the meany - and daddy gave into his little girl. I thought it would be a problem. I laid down the ground rules from day one, and she has been awesome. She is allowed to call us or home at any time as that is free. However, it is nice for me also, as I can always reach her and know she is ok. She is a very active child and is involved in lots of things, walks home from school, and I know she has it in case of an emergency. Today's world is different from when we grew up - back then our parents did not have to worry about the freaks that are in the world now! | |
KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1375 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I have 3 - daughter 4th grade- so far so good, son 2nd grade thinks it is unfair teacher is friend of mine, daughter - the "BIG K" - thinks it is boring - she knows her colors and numbers and feels it is a waste of time. | |

Good mothers know that stuff happens, it is the ones that accuse you have to worry about. Every child gets hurt, although it is hard to se ehtem in pain and you do wonder what will people think, what if???? But in the end - you are a GREAT mom who loves her kids ! | |

That would be the best, you know if media gets it - or some freak on the internet - they would post it. All the other items that end up here and kids can find, it would not be a good thing for his memory. He did great work, and made the shows today a lot more interesting than Wild Kingdom . . . | |

If we (the kids and me) want to do anything on Sunday - you might as well plan on no Daddy. I just scheduled my daughters party for a Sunday - and he made the comment how he would miss football. I refuse to get Tivo because then I would be stuck ALL WEEK long! Between the game itself and fantasy football - we get little time til February. Now he has a run for his money on the computer with me finding Mommy Talk.

The cold helped them, you do not even have to open them, just let them paly with it. Experiment with the flavors until you find one they like - it is messy, but good for them, and introduces them to something they will like that is healthy for them.

It is if some other girl has the same crush on the same boy - that is the hard part - girls have become more catty at an earlier age. Very hard to explain to a 9 year old.

KmomJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1375 | Posted: 2 yearss ago My oldest has been in and out of dolls - my youngest LOVES her babies - actually we have been going thru American Girl catalog - thanks for the ebay tip - as her birthday is in 15 days. My girls have never been into Barbies that much because I collect them, and they fear if they get one, they have to put it up to look at, not to play. So the ones that do get opened - have not gotten much use.
