First of all Welcome to the group!!!

Im Keri and I have two children. A 13 yr old son named Phaylin and a 11 yr old daughter named Caitlynn.

My son was diagnosed with ADHD and he had trouble sitting still in class. He would space off, get up and wander, and so forth since he was 2. At that age I didnt know that he had this problem. We sought advice through a Shrink (cant spell the right word) and she did a test for it. Nothing more then really just talking to him. My son is on Stratterra and it is helping. But you might want to talk with a dr that deals with children and mental health. 

Tell me is your son quite bright for his age? (Ok we all think our kids are bright) My son is exceptionally smart. When he was 8 he was speaking like an adult. Not using foul language but using words that only an adult would use and he used it in the appropriate context. Just floored his Dr every time she would talk with him. What 3 yr old could tell you how a bank runs?? Mine did. Scary huh?? At 2 he learned to count in German from 1 - 10. Was reading at the age of 3. Not any novels but short kid books.

Does you son have sensitive hearing? My son does. They say that is part of the ADHD. For some reason certain sounds bother him. He has always been like that.

Have your child checked out. It will hurt him more in life later on if he wasnt looked at if he does have it. And if he DOES dont blame yourself. Use this time to help shape him into the next Albert Einstien. They believe he was ADHD.

Already told him that would happen. Threats and so forth just havent worked. I even told him that if he keeps this up he will be flipping burgers for minimum wage instead of that Dr thing he wants to be.

I have even boughten that Jay McGraw book and have gotten the book called "7 habits of highly effective teens"

See if that helps. Told him that for every A he brings home he will get $5, B's $3, C's $2 and D's and F's he gets nothing.

I have never had to deal with your situation or having a new husband. Still have my first one. (15 yrs now)

But I can see what is going on with your daughter somewhat. I have an 11 yr old daughter and she is already has that "Im an adult!" attitude. Is your daughter an only child? Im sure she wasnt happy with the divorce between you and your previous husband (her father). Has that divorce been amicable? Or was it messy? Has it been awhile since you were divorced and started dating your new hubby? Sometimes kids who have gone through traumatic situations like a nasty divorce they want to protect thier parent who they live with. Sometimes the child feels like this new person is intruding into your lives and they are taking a defensive stance. Have you ever talked to her about your marriage to your new Hubby prior to it? Might want to sit down and talk with her and help her to understand that he isnt here to replace her. He is just an addition. And this new baby will be a greater addition. Just take your time and so forth when talking about the new baby. Help her to realize that she isnt being replaced. Im sure she is thinking "Well Mom replaced my dad with this new dad guess Im being replaced with a new kid."

She isnt being replaced Im sure of that but that is what she is probably feeling. Have her maybe write or color how she is feeling about everything. Sometimes that helps.

Oh yes!

Its one of the easiest drugs to manufacture and to sell. This is why all our cold medications like Sudafed are behind locked doors.

I have seen enough of people using this garbage and it is sad.

Sorry to hear that you are sick with the flu! Not fun being sick. Im still getting over the cold. Stinks being sick.

Get plenty of rest, sip lots of fluids, take ibuprophin for the aches and pains, and just rest! Oh try not to call 911. I know its tempting but please save my sanity. LOL.

Now if you are vomiting and have the runs sip gatorade. You need to replace the electrolytes that you have lost. Now if you are elderly and are doing that be careful. Drink the fluids. And just rest. It gets pretty dangerous for them. We took a patient last shift who was elderly and was having the runs. She didnt drink anything to replace what she was loosing and in turn her blood pressure was extremely low. You can avoid that by sipping the gatorade.

Be careful, relax and wash those hands.

MY house is nearly done.

My Tree is up and decorated just need to finish the outside of the house. I am gonna go Friday and get some more things for my house. I love decorating for the holidays.
